only good fighters hopkins beat was trinidad and de la hoya whos best weights were 147...i predicted hopkins would lose to taylor 3 years ago on ********boxing..taylor is the first real live middleweight that hopkins has faced sence roy jones..and he lost..i dont think hes top 5 middleweight because james toney and roy jones fought at middleweight but their never mentioned
i rate hopkins and think he deserves to be top ten all time middle champs, he achieved alot and did alot of what other fighters couldnt, jermain shaded a couple of decisions and is green but still isnt that bad a fighter, not bad for a 40 year old.
Obviously people like myself will always rate him and others who dont never will its one of those things

I agree completely.
lol, I wonder what Hopkins excuse is this time.
To me he'll never be anything but an ex-con.
Hopkins deserves to go down as one of top 10 middleweights of all time. He fought all comers at his weight and beat them. Today you have fighters who move up and down in weight in order to hand pick fights and collect titles by hand selecting fights that their style gives them an advantage. There was a reason why Roy Jones avided a rematch with Hopkins after Hopkins who was green in their first fight had won the title and gained much experience. Jones fought a tomatoe can like Ruiz to get a Heavyweight Title but got his ass handed to him by Tarver and Glen Johnson.
poor hopkins...just bcoz he lost again and now hes a trash.
Its what he deserves, fighters shouldnt talk the talk if the refuse to walk the walk. Hopkins has been really overated considering he hasnt done anything since Tito.
Hopkins dominated an entire division for 12 years. Which is something no other fighter has been able to do in our generation. Trinidad and De La Hoya fought in as many as 5 weight classes. Hopkins stayed in the same weight class. Even at 41 years old, a rising star, who is 27, is still not able to dominate him or win a decisive victory. Everyone said the fight was close, including Taylor and DiBella at the post-fight press conference. Maybe you should take a real look at the record of Hopkins and show me another fighter who was able to accomplish this.
Hopkins is really lucky that his weight class was very weak, thats the only reason he dominated it.
I wouldnt mind if Hopkins chose to dominate his division, but he was always calling out fighters from higher divisions. He never once backed his word up by moving up to face them, he just stayed in his comfort zone facing "Robert Allens" his entire career knowing that the people he called out couldnt ever come down to his weight and fight him.
Taylor's really green, he's also lucky he's found himself in an extremely weak division.
Stupidity at its finest...

So are you saying that Glen Johnson or Antwun Echols is the best name on this alltime greats record?
Imagine what Tito or Oscar could have done if they decided to fight mandatory after mandatory...they didnt and their legacy has paid for it, therefore how can you not take a closer look at a star like Nard Hopkins?

Toney and Jones fought the majority of their careers at higher weights. Both men were at 160 for a mere moment. while Greb, Robsinson, Hagler, Monzon and Hopkins spent the majority of their careers at 160. Hopkins fought plenty of live opponents. The guy was undefeated for 12 years, ten years as a champion. Finally a 27 year old undefeated Olympian beat Hopkins twice....by close decision. Hopkins is a naturally gifted athlete, he went from training in prison to the pro-ranks. Hopkins defended his title almost as many times as Taylor had pro-fights.
