Well guys what will it be this time. The three most hated fighters on this forum are the Klitschko's Calzaghe, and Taylor. And every time that they win, the people that talked for months about them find some excuse for what happened.
Some people even make excuses over 137 days later. So my question is. What is the excuse this time. Let me guess. 3 judges had it wrong this time.
Let the excuses fly
1 thing to bitch about is boxing fans on this site at the moment: The same problem last fight has errupted again.
People, in a close fight you have to realize there is a difference of opinion and both sides can clearly be correct. Many have it 115-113 for either fighter or a draw. That means it's a close fight, so learn to live with other's opinions and don't act as thought your opinion of the fight score is law and all other's are simply talking out of their ass.

Pacman lent his sox to B-hop
So you're telling me fans who root for their fighter who have him winning in a close fight are correct over judges who are paid to do so and have been doing it for quite some time? He lost, everyone who is complaining was rooting for Hopkins and had him winning, how fucking ironic.
I was rooting for Hopkins to win, and called it a draw. But if I had to choose a winner I was leaning towards Hopkins and it has nothing to do with bias. I've scored lots of close fights that have the fighter I'm rooting for losing, this one is not one of those cases. If you don't believe boxing judges can be bias look at the Tyson-Douglas fight for christ sakes. A judge had Tyson winning by 3 points, and that is just off the top of my head.
Bad decisions by judges have occured for many years. Fans influence them and it's not as though it's a court house in there... THese are not sequestered jurors that have no opinions of the fighters before the fight. They've probably all seen the first fight and come in with opinions of their own, and they could very well push their agendas in a close match.
i had it a draw, but a few rounds were hard to score and have no complaints with the result, i had taylor winning the 1st fight by a round.
Same old same old really taylor just did enough, but to me still not particuarly impressive.
Ill be glad to see hop do his 'farewell fight' in jan (which will be a certain win) and retire and look forward to see taylor vs winky
Face it, every Hopkins fan had Hopkins winning, every Taylor fan had Taylor winning. Fans are biased, judges are not, Taylor won.
Sorry Blitz, but that's the dumbest comment I've ever read out of a supposed fan's mouth. "judges are not" , what a crock of shit. THere are robberies and bogus matches all the time in boxing and while this wasn't a robbery, it was by no means an easy decision and personal bias can always be claimed in a match such as this.
hmm
Hopkins says he would like to end his career vs Antonio Tarver and he is prepared to offer a lot of money to Antonio to get it done.
Straight from the snaggle-toothed horses' mouth.
Hops' excuse though is that he is old. I admit he'd beat Taylor 3-4 years ago. Now Taylor has beat him fairly twice.
I disagree, I had it a draw.
but looking at your avatar I suspect you were looking at the fight from a bias point of veiw(no offence intended btw)
Hopkins was beat by a long way and if you ask me even the judges gave him alot more credit than he was due.
Young taylor went out there tonight to prove it wasn't a fluke first time round and he did just that and then some.
I'm a Hopkins fan.
Did I have him winning?
No.
D-R-A-W
Hopkins won first round because he made Taylor miss all his punches but close
6,7,8,9,12 he was just landing the clearer more accurate punches.
SO WHAT??? its just your opinion. What difference does it make your a Hopkins fan? And isn't saying in those 5 rounds you have listed that he was just landing the better punches kinda contradicting?

bhop was humbled by the better fighter and you could see it in his face when he was trying to claim he was robbed
last fight, taylor won a close contest but this time he won by a country mile
I disagree, I had it a draw.
i don't hate Jermaine Taylor, i can't make excuses, the fight was, yet again, a very close one and the judges swayed toward Taylor again. i'm not gonna make enemies up on here by trying to dog down anyone elses opinion, i have my two eyes, just like yall have yours. and i don't blame Taylor, if anyone is to blame, it's not Jermaine himself. (Honestly, i'm just glad the whole feud is over so i don't have to think about it anymore)
Taylor was constantly shooting that jab and Trinidad is a punching bag to any boxer...and you said that Hopkins wasn't in his physical prime he wasn't in his physical prime against Tito either. Argument lost there.

Greatest, Hopkins is still a better fighter now then he was when he was in his physical prime. A lot of fighters really get into their prime late into their careers.
I'm not talking about the Hopkins 10 year ago, I'm talking about the Hopkins that fought Trinidad...
That would fight for every second of every round.
