In 2006, there are MANY megafights to be made and already made..
Hopkins-Taylor II (I know it's 2005, but so close to 2006:D)
Morales-Pacquiao II
Corrales-Castillo III (free)
Lacy-Calzaghe
Mayweather-Judah
All in a 4 month span!!!
Then there will be the heavyweight tournament
Hatton-Mayweather
Barrera-Pacquiao II HOPEFULLY
Do you think boxing can go back up?
2006 will be INSANE! i cant wait till catillo-coralles 3. and the lacy fight is gunna be a good one too. i dont care how much that mayweather-judah fight is, im buyin it. better be a good undercard
Boxing needs to get back on cable in a bad bad way. Look at mixed martial arts now that its getting some airtime on cable t.v. Its getting bigger and bigger everyday. Boxing needs to find a way to do that.
Achilles do you post on CBZ much?
I post once in awhile, but I check that forum constantly. There are some REALLY knowledgeable posters there who love the sport. It's one of my favorite forums on the internet.
However, Boxingscene will always have a place in my heart, even if there isn't as much in the way of historical knowledge here. This is the biggest, most active boxing forum on the internet.
Boxing thrives when it can hold the common man's interest. The casual boxing fan is not about to shell out $40-50 for a few hours of action. This sport will be revived only when it returns to cable television.
PPV's should be reserved only for special occassions, such as the case of two superstars clashing.
Definately...
I have been saying this for months..
but I mean, Castillo-Corrales III and Lacy-Calzaghe are both free which are megafights, Judah-Mayweather I don't blame for being PPV..
but I do blame PPVs...
They're getting out of hand...

No this isn't the "golden" year, and it never will be until boxing is televised more on free cable and not so many PPV's.
I could go on a rant about this but I won't.
2006 looks like a very good boxing year, but the problem is the heavy division, its the most popular divison and until it gets good boxing wont get back.
sad but true
I dont se why it would need saved as its a great sport, unless your refering to the Heavyweight division as its been crap for years
I mean, get it famous again, like it used to be in the 80s n shit..
Megafights are the best thing for the sport.
and 2007/08 will b even better huh tha greatest..as 2 of boxingscenes finest posters will b contending for the titles..well prob not yet, but we will still b undefeated destroying all who come in our way
