who wins? and why didnt this fight happen? i think it would be a wAR. early Quartey would bother him with his jab, but in the sixth or seventh round TIto's power would be too great, and he would Knock out Ike.
they both lost to tha Golden Boi, and Tito destroyed Vargas, while Vargas got tha better of Ike.
......also ike's stamina is questonable ...
Let's be real, Ike Quartey had just as good stamina as did Tito. The only times in which the two of them were worn out was when they were taking punishment.
But I know that the Bazooka is punching harder than Trinidad, because Oscar (who fought both), is on the record as say that Ike hit him harder than anyone in his whole career. Oscar said there words...."Ike hits like he has concrete bricks in his gloves!"
Later brother brologs.
It's possible, I suppose, but unlikely. Don't forget, Quartey was more able to connect on a more frequent basis than Trinidad was against De la Hoya.
OMFG! LMAO!
Thats a popular view in the axium of boxing pundits. I don't believe that De La Hoya is the Sugar Ray Leonard he was made out to be, but I really think he had Tito's number. He would have done to Tito what Mayweather did to Gatti. It sucks, I know.
ike never faced someone with tito's power not even vargas compares..tito wins this fight by k.o in the mid rnds. dlh put ike down and him on queer street in the 12th......also ike's stamina is questonable ...
coming from a self proclaimed tito fan - this is border-line heresy. you should be tarred and feathered.
honestly, even w/ dlh's propensity of gassing out - i mean i could see that scenario in which ... OH GOD NO! i can't even type it.
Tito's appeal was that he was "perfectly flawed", a big punching exciting fighter who was vulnerable. He wasn't invincible, but he was great. Some fighters (i.e. Hopkins, Wright, De La Hoya) simply had styles that Tito could not overcome.
I would have to say that if De La Hoya would've engaged more freely with Tito, he would have knocked Tito out in 6 or 7 rounds. He was absolutely dominating Tito. It was apparent from the first three rounds that Oscar simply had his number. There was no way in hell Trinidad was beating De La Hoya had he fought the correct fight. And Oscar has a much better chin than Tito did. And I'm a Tito fan.

had oscar not run the entire fight and fought - then he'd a seen that his words hold no merit. he elected to stand and trade w/ ike. dude - could you imagine had he tried to do that w/ tito - el tipo lo mata coño! :boxing:

Quartey wins by UD. Trinidad stands right in front of you and tries to walk you down. as soon as Trinidad got set to punch, Quartey would fire that bazooka in his face...over and over and over. when Trinidad would land anything, Quartey would give that "nice try" smile before plastering him with 40 more jabs.
I beg to differ. On all counts. I think you're entirely wrong. he got dropped against Oba Carr, twice by bother Jose Louis Lopez and De la Hoya, once against Vargas, and by Phillips, too.
He went down twice against Jose Luis Lopez and De La Hoya, but Phillips and Vargas never put him down. The Oba Carr knockdown was incorrectly ruled, as Quartey was hit on the back and a biased ref who was fucking up the whole night made a very poor decision.

Ike has much the better chin. The Bazooka would annihialate Trinidad in the second half of the fight!

Now, Trinidad went down pretty often over the years, but he was never really hurt very badly until Hopkins stopped him. Quartey was hurt and looked in danger in almost all of the fights I mentioned.
Furthermore, with the exception of Vargas (mebbe) none of those guys hit anywhere near as hard as Trinidad could. So no, I don't think you're right about their chins. Trinidad's is better, his hardest punch is harder than Quartey's hardest, and Quartey is more apt to run out of gas in the late rounds (his stamina has always been questionable, don't kid yourself.) Trinidad inside the distance.
quartey has a good chin..but he never fought anybody who hits like trinidad...vargas is the only man who really beat quartey...trinidad could win by UD or this could be william joppy like fight..either way trinidad wins
