Ruiz is fighting Valuev in Germany in December 17th. We all know that Ruiz cannot KO Valuev. We also all know that there is no way in hell he can win on points in Germany against Valuev. Ruiz will either be KTFOd or lose on points and he must know that. The guy is anything but stupid. I know he will fight anybody anywhere but this is a suicide, he will never get that belt back after he loses it. Is he trying to get out of sport with one last good payday? What do you think?
I hate Ruiz as much as the next guy, but he will have very little trouble with this guy. It is a Don King money ploy. Fight the guy in his home town and rake in the cash.
I can't believe anyone on here thinks Ruiz will win let alone KO Valuev! I know Valuev is big and slow but he has good skill for being Andre the Giant's brother. He also never stops punching or moving forward. Ruiz is gonna get beat and he is gonna get beat bad. To a bloody pulp.
Valuev is a freak show, if he fought in the U.S he would have been ko'd within his first ten fights and nobody would know who he is. Ruiz has been fighting the best in the division for years, as much as i hate him, he will knock out this farce within 8 rounds
u wanan put some poins on dat, lets go small, million points, i got one mil on valuev....
All of you are forgetting that Ruiz is a legit world champion who has, by some kind of miracle, defended his title numerous times.
Valuev is just an ape..
As funny as it sounds, I think Ruiz will put on his best performance of his carrier exposing the slow moving giant. He will actually Box and move! Ain't that a shocker?
Ruiz by a UD, if that does not happen, it will be the robbery of the year!
yo man i gotta disagree with u Valuev looks pretty good to me, hes got great movement for his size, I think Valuev wins this one...
I've seen the Larry Donald Fight with Valeuv. Honest to god he is going to make John Ruiz look like Roy Jones. I like Ruiz he isnt the best to watch but damn he has balls.
also there is a reason valuev has taken 13 years and 42 fights to get to a title, his whole career has been a fabricated joke meant to use his freakish size to capitalize on this one big opprotunity. im sure his handlers are just praying he doesent embarrass himself so they can squeeze a couple more fights out after this loss. he has fought nobody of any real significance, and even a year ago nobody was talking about him, now all of a sudden cause he stole a fight from larry donald who happened to beat shit heap evander holyfield were sposed to believe this guy can fight. give me a fuckin break.

I've seen a few Valuev fights and he is not THAT slow. It will be the robbery though, everyone knows that.
i fully expect ruiz to win this fight.
and secondly it would be a shame to have to recognize a 330 pound heavyweight champ, a sad day for boxing if you ask me.

I don't think that Ruiz is ready to retire yet; I read somewhere that his career earnings weren't very much(10-20 million). And you know that after the lawyers, promoters, managers, and trainors get done with those earnings there isn't much left over. :(
You can't get rich if you are being promoted by Don King, he'll fuck you until you love him.
I know he is his mandatory and Ruiz will make lots more money in Germany. But he must know he will lose this. He is probably planning on retirement. He did retire after Toney fight, I think he lost the interest.

Valuev is his mandatory that is why he is fighting him.

a fight for Ruiz here garners no money cause of no fans
Germany = dollars
WBA mandatory
For all his awful fighting "skills" he is a true fighter in the sense he has ducked no one and has challenged everyone, he's not afraid to go to someone's backyard and fight him, oh yeah he got some balls, he just sucks and is boring to watch, however he's tried to be more crowd pleasing as witnessed in the Toney fight but still, he's boring, i don't like his style but you gotta respect the man cause he'll fight anybody, anywhere, he's proven that.
I think it is a combination of no place or network here in the US is willing to buy this fight and the fact that in Germany this fight is huuuuggggge and that is the only way king is going to make money on this fight. Do not kid yourself I am sure Ruiz is very unwilling to go there and fight but king basically tells him he has no other choice. It's about king making money not the safety of Ruiz.
True Germans love to have shitty fights they can corrupt anyway...LOL Good point tho you are right.
There are alot of bad things you can say about Ruiz; he doesn't box, he wrestles; he fouls..whatever. But there is one good thing that you can say about Ruiz; he doesn't duck anyone, like Chris Byrd and Vitali have done.
I wish the other champions, except Brewster, would stop taking "safe" fights and put everything on the line like Ruiz is doing.
