Even if he was an Alterante at the Olympics he was still a friggin Gold Medalist he was a very good amateur fighter.
oh no i agree with that ..i think the only guy that had his number was buster in the ams
once again you have made a highly inaccurate statement about boxing history. way to go buttfly.
sorry but Joe was an ALT also at the OLYMpics ...buster did beat him for the spot but got hurt joe was the runner up.....
i think joe frazier was a bad amateur. partly because joe was a slow starter, so if the amateurs are three rounds, then joe wouldn't have enough time to get going, but in the pros he would.

likewise buster mathis was a very good amateur, but a bum as a pro.

u want an example of a great amateur and bad pro....just look at David Reid. he was wrecked...him and his lazy ass eye...LOL
You must be joking man, he only had 14 fights when he took on Trinidad

Joe Frazier was an Olympic Gold Medalist, Joe beat Buster Mathis at both the Olympic Trials and Olympic Box-Offs.
Name some to show JUYJUY that amateurs and professionals are a whole different game..
Brandon Gonzales
Andre Ward

Great Amateurs but well you know...

buster mathis .sr beat joe a few times as amateurs lost to him and ali as a pro....henry tillman beat tyson 2 times or more as amateurs and lost to him by ko 1 in the pros
hmm
Well, my uncle was like 350-9 in the amateurs, one of the highest rated ever in U.S. history back in the 70's, but as a pro he was old and had no legs. I think he went 0-4 or 1-4 as a pro.
