Let's be honest now - European fighters are better than Americans, they just dont get the chance to prove it. Like it or not, the two Klitschkos are the best heavyweights in the world (dont make me laugh about retirement, Vitali will be back before the end of next year). Zsolt Erdei is the linear champion (check the lineage - Roy Jones was never proper champ cos he never fought Michalchewski) at light heavy. All four major belt holders are European as well.Calzaghe is the man at Super Middle, middleweight - fair enough, its one of two yanks for that title. Light middle? Ricardo Mayorga. OK maybe hes not European but he's not American. Welter? Zab Judah fair enough. Light welter? Ricky Hatton, a fighter so good it makes Americans sick to their stomachs. He could beat God in the ring and you'd still all moan that he's a dirty fighter and not taking hard fights - Roberto Duran was a dirty fighter and I dont hear you moaning about him! Lightweight is Castillo, well Mexicans are mostly all Spanish aint they ha ha. He's definitely not American though. Super feather? Barrera. Feather? Mexican, but Scott Harrison is European and is coming up. It goes on and on. The only reason Americans appear dominant is because they have promoters that can get them into positions to fight for titles. Face it, Americans are in third after Mexicans and Europeans.
This is by far the dumbest post that I think i have seen someone dare to post. Are you crazy? The better boxers by far come from USA. But the best boxers in the world come from the latin countries. Particularly Puerto RIco and Mexico. There is a report on the web that states "Puerto Rico produces the best fighters and Champions in the world per capita." I would have to agree with that. Such a small island, yet so many champs. Who does Europe have besides Hatton............I'm waiting? America has produced champs like, SRLeonard, DelaHoya, SRRobinson, Ali, Foreman, Louis, Tyson, Judah, RJJ, Frazier, Dempsey etc, etc.
Oh and your Klitchko Brothers are not the best in the world, they are at the top of the worst heavyweight division in the history of boxing. Oh and they are pussies, Vitali is a quiter, and Wladmir has the softest chin in professional boxing.
COnclusion: European boxers are not 1st 2nd 3rd or 4th, Puerto Rico, Mexico, USA, other Latin American countries, then finally Europe.
looks like i succeeded then haha

Mexicans are the best fighters. I put this up to annoy Americans. It doesnt matter where fighters are from, the fighter defines himself not where he's from.
the american fighters got gotta go no where there where the money is in the united states and its the the country that boxing is now known for. those brits and ppl like that need to come here instead of being lil pussies. what r the americans gonna get for going over there? nothin at all
actually figthign hatton or calzaghe in their hometowns where they are hero's would be a big pay day for people like mayweather or lacy who dont sell as many tickets here as hatton and calzaghe do in Europe, that being said:
The US is the house of world boxing, here is where all the fights happen, where figthers are made into icons, where any day, a simple man can become a legend.
wow. thats some deep shit

many euro fighter stay over there and fight nobodys the best figter rigt now are mexican pr etc..
Hows about Felix Sturm who went over there and nearly beat De La Hoya? And you wanna talk about sheltered?! what about Floyd Mayweather, Roy Jones and Bernard Hopkins, three fighters always mentioned at the top of anyone's p4p list. Who the hell have they ever fought? Mayweather has fought no one since he 'beat' Castillo. Roy Jones' list of victims looks like a who's who of policemen and journeymen. And Hopkins hasnt beaten anyone that is a genunine middleweight with skills and turned down the opportunity to fight Calzaghe for $6million. Face it, Americans can't fight any better than Europeans. They just have more opportunity and then refuse hard fights once they've got their belts. There's nothing like the Mexican will for hard fights that we see in Barrera and Morales et al.

There's enough racial divide on here without threads like this....
haha, I opened up the Calzaghe/Lacy fight thread a few seconds ago to the last page and saw no boxing talk, instead nationalist talk. Only on boxingscene...
I don't get how Hatton fans have the audacity to question any of Mayweather's competition. From 2001-2003 Mayweather fought, IN A ROW:
Corrales
Hernandez
Chavez
and Castillo x 2
I don't care that it "has been years" (read: 2) since he "fought someone decent." It is more legitimate fights in a row then Hatton will have fought in his entire career before he retires.

if holding 7 belts doesnt make you champ what the f**k does ?
imnot gonna even bother with the rest. and im english
This kid just wantsa to start some shit with the us peeps on this site. Who in europe is even close to the skill level (in history) to sugar ray leonard, sugar ray robinson, Ali, Fariser, Foreman, De la Hoya, sugar shane mosely, roy jones, hopkins, etc and the list goes friggen on. You take your best euros against our best in history and we dominate plane and simple. Sorry but true. You can try and compare but it just won't happen. Don't get me wrong their have been some great fighters from everywhere in europe but not in comparison with our great fighters.
sure the klits are the best HWs... in particular wald with THREE KO LOSSES and Vitali definitely proved it defending his WBC title he won by fighting a golf player (after the legit holder, who STOPPED him) by fighting a whale and a bum and then retiring
zsolt erdei is the best LHW and so was DM before him... Jones should have gone to germany and get robbed (or warned for punching his opponent...) but DM should have never left his home
calzaghe is the man who fought nobodies and ducked his own mother, and you mention hopkins and mayweather as ducking people
US is the country I lived in I like the least, but you make me change my mind about going home

United States is the Mecca of professionl boxing. Fighters from Europe are generally sheltered, and do not take the necessary risks in order to become name fighters.
Ricky Hatton fought his first five fights here, and never returned....that says alot.
He was given opportunity after opportunity to come here and fight. In fact.....there are few European fighters outside Wladimir Klitschko who even compare to fighters from here.
