As result of Vitali Klitschkos retirement Don King now promotes all major heavyweight belts and is planning an unification tournament which will result in one undisputed heavyweight champion (similar to the 1986 box-off that produced the youngest heavyweight champion in history Mike Tyson). In an interview with SecondsOut Don King said he will be inviting aged legends Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield to enter his tourney.
"I am interested in working with Mike again," King said. "Provided that he does the proper things in training. He's had some bad losses of late but there's no reason Mike Tyson cannot win the heavyweight title again. He is only 39, George Foreman, a man who has similar punching power, won the title back at age 45. If Mike can dedicate himself to training again and can (promise me) that he is able to do that then yes, I will give him a chance to create history all over again."
King added: "And Evander Holyfield has his licence back and he can be part of all this, too. He lost to Larry Donald who is a different kind of fighter but the 'Real Deal' can be a factor, too."
Tyson v Holyfield III would be a guilty pleasure but one which people would pay to see."
as probably the biggest mike tyson fan on here i think mike should just fight tarver and call it a quits. don king is up to something and i dont trust his ass!
Don KIng just wants the money from Tyson holyfield 3 that is all and i bet if the tournament did happen that fight will be in the first round. the winner will take on ruiz then byrd and so on until we get to the top fighters.. that we all know mike and evander can't handle at this point.
You know the division is in trouble when King needs to bring in Holyfield, who has looked horrible lately, and Tyson who hasn't won a fight of significance in at least 10 years...I like Tyson but if he comes back he should just fight Tarver...He doesn't have the skills anymore to beat any of the current heavyweight champs..maybe Chris Byrd since he punches like a bitch but none of the others...get Valuev in the tourney!! Oh, wait he will be after he beats the shit out of John Ruiz!!
whatttttttttttt not even ruiz ???????????????????????????

the only way tyson could win a heavyweight title again is if he re dedicate himself and hire kevin rooney..bottom line..he could create a history still now but he needs kevin rooney and he knows it.his recent trainer jeff fenech is a punk who inspires fighters to quit when nothing works just like he did to tyson and hussien.CALL BACK KEVIN ROOOOONEY RITE NOW!
The only way I'll support Tyson making a comeback is if he is truly 100% dedicated, and if he works with Kevin Rooney again. He is the only person who can make Tyson the fighter he once was. Kevin Rooney even stated in several interviews that if Tyson ask him to train him, he will.

if this is true, mike is going to get ko'd again
but i actully think he would stand a chance against feather fister byrd and ruiz
One fight of Tyson would bring more money to King than all of his "champions" combined. That said, I think Mike has a pretty good chance against Ruiz and Byrd. Brewster will probably KO him by the 5th and he has a 50/50 against Rahman. Hell, Mike could become a champ again if he is lucky. And just think what would happen if VK came out of retirement anf fight Mike for the undisputed title - that would be a mega fight.
Loyal to the grave.
Hell yeah! One of the big reasons I love boxing is because its entertaining. And no one entertains like Mike Tyson. His career was not perfect, but it was a 20 year unforgettable roller coaster ride.
Tyson and Holyfield in the tourney? King is out of touch. After Tysons last few years in the ring I dont think he's a third of the draw he used to be. Then Holyfield, this man needs to just hang em up. King go look at a calander! Its almost 2006 not 1996!
