which victory was more controversial, corrales' mouthpeice win or castillos weight issues win?? and if there is a third fight what will happen? :boxing:
I think the weight issue is more controversial because Castillo had months to prepare and he obviously knew exactly what weight he had to be at, and did not do his job. Yet, I believe that ironically, Corrales spitting out his mouthpiece was the one that more likely changed the outcome of the fight. I dont know how much extra energy Castillo gained from those extra 3 pounds or whatever it was, but from what I saw, it seemed like Corrales made the right adjustments and as a result, he beat Corrales to the punch from the opening bell. I could be wrong, but I don't think this would have been much different, even if Castillo had weight a little more.
My view of their first fight, however, was that it was so close that spitting the mouthpiece out was just enough to swing it in Corrales' favor. Still, ofcourse we'll never know whether or not Castillo would have won.
JLC never had any intention of making 135 for the rematch...& because he didn't have to cut the extra 2 lbs and came in at 137, he was in better physical condition than Chico, who has to go to hell-and-back to make 135....Chico was spent, JLC had more energy because he cut less weight, and the outcome was predictible at that point
so, BY FAR, JLC's shenanigans were worse than Chico's
but then again, did Bob Arum tell JLC that he "didn't have to make 135" because a KO win, by hook or by CROOK, would mean a 3rd fight?
i love the massive exaggeration. the fact is chico cant take a good
shot without going down, admittedly he usually gets up but not that
time, but still i doubt that the weight played much ofa factor.
the fight was going worse for chico than before, then he took a
good shot, didnt cheat, and didnt get up.
Both real controversial but everything will be settled in the 3rd fight. Castillo By ko in the middle rounds hopefully corrales learned his lesson and he puts on his running shoes instead of going toe to toe. Manny_P you really hate Mexicans dont you? dont come to Cali homeboy!
I hate Mexicans? and how do you know that Madame Oprah?
Facts: Castillo cheated weight along wit his doctor! He's a cheatin fat ass basterd! 3 weight don't make difference ma ass. His weight were muscle weight, not water, not fat. Fight Hatton or Cotto and GTFO! Castillo that is!
Don't come to Manila if you don't want me to make a blood faucet outa yer silly body!

I'd say Corrales, not making weight is one thing, thats outside the ring drama. Spitting your mouthpiece twice, and having your corner intentionally delaying the fight is another thing. Castillo proved it in their rematch by KTFO of Glass Chin Corrales, and people have the balls to put him in top 10 p4p, what a joke. Castillo is a hall of famer, Corrales is not.
