Jeff Lacy is AWFUL, he is hilarious. I've yet to see him throw an accurate punch! He seriously isn't very good at all, his last two fights prove this where he came up against washed up zombies and just to failed to impress, what has he ever done?
It's similar to the Sam Peter situation, America wants another Tyson. I saw clips of Peter last year expecting him to be some kind of world-beater, and I LMFAO because he was so poor. It's the same with Lacy, infact he may be even worse. Don't believe the hype, there will soon be a wake-up call if Lacy finally decides to fight Calzaghe.
Jeff"coward"Lacy has a big mouth ,and i hope Calzaghe or Kessler soon will shut his big fat mouth
ive not seen much of woodhall, what was he like what his style ?
Woodhall was all about tight defence, lots of outside work, hit and move style. He had quick hands but was abit too upright, and had never really learned to plant his feet.
ive not seen much of woodhall, what was he like what his style ? ive only really seen him on bbc as a pundit with Big Daddy Bunce lol,
as for Wharton, come on, he lacked speed & was abit one-dimensional.
Henry Wharton was like second coming of Henry Cooper- white, english, left hook.
I think the Woodhall win is under-rated for Calzaghe, Woodhall had pedigree (Woodhall won the Gold medal at the 1990 Commonwealth Games). Woodhall came very close to stopping Keith Holmes with one arm (Bernard Hopkins didn't come close to stopping Holmes), and remember that he had been kept on the WBC mandatory spot for 20 months by a certain Mr King! Woodhall dislocated his shoulder in training and as soon as King heard this only then did he give Richie his shot.
Now no offence to Markus Beyer, but he was nowhere near Woodhall's class. Woodhall had been out of the ring nearly a year (due to falling out with Warren) and was clearly rusty at the start of the fight with Beyer due to inactivity, but Woodhall schooled Beyer in the second half of the fight and won the last six rounds easily. Beyer couldn't believe the decision went his way, he'd just been given a boxing lesson.
The only person to ever get the better of Woodhall fair and square like Calzaghe did was Roy Jones Jr at the Olympics.

why was this?
He was basically the most arrogant and annoying bastard to ever lace the gloves,he chose to play the role of heel because he knew people would pay top price for tickets in the hope of seeing him knocked off his perch.
how much was he offered to fight in the uk?
i dont think it would have been smart for roy to go to the uk and possibly get ripped off because eubank was so loved there
Eubank was the most hated man in the UK,no exaggerations,he was despised.
Its difficult to judge this fight because Lacy has never really been tested yet and Joe has been on the slide since splitting from his wife(ex-wife),so its difficult to judge and thats why the fight is exciting and Im looking forward to seeing what happens!
Jones Jr was offered more money than he was getting in the US to come to the UK and fight Eubank, this was around 1995/96/97/98/99. I think Jones Jr must of knew that Eubank could give him probs.

just like roy didnt duck eubank

Manny Steward says that McClellan would of beaten Jones Jr easily. I agree that McClellan would of beaten him again (and again and again), it's just not difficult to visualize McClellan's style getting the better of Jones Jr's style and McClellan finding the right punch early on.
Eubank never ducked anybody, he didn't go out of his way to make certain fights though because the US promoters couldn't offer him enough money to come to the US (nobody knew Eubank over there) and Jones Jr was unknown in the UK back in 1991 so there was no money in that fight (only risk).
eubank didnt duck roy, just like roy didnt duck eubank
roy ko mcClellan 1!!!
pwned!! pwned!! nyhahahahaha
can you elaborate on why mcClellan would have beaten rjj so easily
and itd be great if you could elaborate on eubank ducking rjj

Manny basically says that Jones would of been an easy win for Gerald in the pro's, instead of a difficult win (as it was in the amateurs).
Eubank had the tools to beat Jones, though I admit he wouldn't of used them.

as a professional fighter, mcClellan has nothing on roy jones junior
and you have posted quotes by chris eubank of him saying he doesnt want to fight roy jones!

Calzaghe is too quick for Lacy if they trade, but maybe Calzaghe's quickness has decreased now which gives Lacy a chance.
2 of joes shots equal one of lacys
if lacy lands a big left hook, or even that clubbing right, joe goes down and soon after that, the fight is over
hahaha youve GOT to be kidding me
sorry to burst your bubble, but roy beats mcClellen and eubank

I think McClellan would of beaten Jones Jr every single time.
