Calzaghe? Doubt it. Kessler? It'd be fun to see. Tarver? I think Jeff would catch him. Glen Johnson? It'd be a hell of a fight. Taylor? Jeff would work more.
I think at this point in time Jeff is very close to unbeatable and is in the transition point from being "the next big thing" to actually being THE guy in boxing.
He said he wants Tarver or Calzaghe next and I'm so glad he did, he needs a signature win to really launch himself into the mainstream sports media ala Roy Jones, Mike Tyson, Oscar De La Hoya, Bernard Hopkins (aka a guy they talk about on Sportscenter everytime he fights). Beating Calzaghe probably wouldn't do that for him, but beating Tarver or Jermaine Taylor might.
What do you guys think?
59 posts and 11,000 points, mmmmm i smell alt
UH UH.. a guenuine NEW account starts out with 10k.. Its the guy with 60 posts and 400 points thats the ALT..
It might be old, but its still worth highlighting what complete bollocks people come out with...
And they make the same mistake again and again, totally disregarding some great fighters...more often than not...because they aren't American..
I can understand while people don't like to be reminded of there cocky statements...
Your right....Hindsight is a wonderful thing..
Chuckle, chuckle

it was funny to be reminded of all these nut hugging idiots but come on,
quit with the revival of long dead threads.
yes, Calzaghe subjected the americans to the greatest 12rds of pwnage
Funny how old this thread really is.
yup now back to the future come on y'all hop on in. http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/3638/deloreandmc12backtothefcv2.jpg
At this point, I honestly think that nobody has a chance. The guy is just too hungry, strong, determined, and intimidating. I think Tarver would be an interesting fight though and I am sure Tarver will give him a tough fight but Jeff wins on pure strength and agression. I am also positive that he will murder Calzaghe worse than he did reid.
I know hindsight is a wonderful thing, but comments like that cheer me up on a dank day. Did you have your head in your hands halfway through that fight?

I think you should stop being a chicken Jeff, and fight Calzaghe. He has a date and a venue for you in Feb, so it's there if you want it. You'll lose respect even from your own fans if you don't fight him, Jeff.
mmmmm.
A R E Y O U K I D D I N G ? ? ? ?
I don't think Lacy needs to move up, Tarver would control Lacy without much trouble, and Jirov would retire him. He is strong for his division, but those guys are just too big naturally for Lacy.
Lacy has the power and skills to beat anyone from 160 to 175. His only down fall might be a wrong fight plan. Its up to his corner to mange him right. He isnt gonna get koed or out worked by any guy right now.Other than that he can remain undefeated thru his career with the oppositon we see right now.
Someone mentioned Glen Johnson. I think Johnson is too old and has been through too many wars to deal with Lacy.
?
Tarver and Jones are the same age as Johnson. Johnson has the best chin of the three and would be the only threat below 175.
lacy's a wrecking machine, but he is vulnerable after a lot of his wild swings. the fighter to beat him will have to have a good stinging jab, a good straight punch as i've noticed throughout lacy's fights he mostly gaurds the sides of his head, and capitolizes after lacy throws those looping haymakers.
lacty would be tough to beat as he is patient, picks his punches rather wisely, and seeks to take his opponent out when they show signs of being in trouble.
Someone mentioned Glen Johnson. I think Johnson is too old and has been through too many wars to deal with Lacy. My question is who has given Lacy he toughest fight??
to answer the question, i'd say Lacy's toughest fight, thus far, if you could call it tough would be with Syd Vanderpool up until the stoppage.. maybe Omar Sheika but since Lacy controlled the last few rounds, i say Syd. great, now i have to go home tonight and watch all these.

like someone said earlier.. j taylor. there both young and have a similar pro record. i honestly wouldnt want to see tarver fight him.. i think that taylor may win with his speed and jab.. lacys got huge power no doubt but many of us here kno that hes got to improve his defense.. his offense is his defense.. so he never had to use it.. thats just my opinion..
