Which fighters have had too many chances to succeed?

andrew golota. it seems like everytime he steps into the ring its for a title and he pretty much blows them all. thats why i nominate him as don kings main bitch. :D

andrew golota hands down...he beats nobody...yets keep getting chances to fight for the title dont completely agree with you, he did beat many but he still fought many good fights. he was leading on grant when he quit. he was leading on bowe bothe times just to ge dqed he beat ruiz but was badly robbed and he fought a good draw with byrd. he is problem is his mentality and stupidity not his boxing skills

ImSoFlyyy I don't want to break out my Tyson rants, but if youre going to act like a dick then I think I'm going to have to. I think most of the 18+ knowledgable posters on board here would agree with me. Tyson's career-defining moment (a positive one) was knocking out a light-heavweight. Without anyone else to measure him aganist, I don't think it's fair to put him in the same league with someone like an ali, frazier, marciano, or louis, as they showed aganist elite competition that they were great. Tyson may have been, but I believe that the man who folded aganist holyfield was the same man who fought spinks, except spinks never tested him. AND.. Like it or not, a fighter is inevitably measured by the level of competition he faced, and how he fared aganist his elite foes. Lewis isnt fair, but Holyfield dominating him certainly is. I also don't really buy the sob-story stuff either. Plenty of fighters have the rags-to-riches story, antonio tarver being a present day example. The point is, a fighter's true character is shown (or exposed, in this case), when he faces adversity in the ring. When has tyson ever showed the "heart of a champion"? Tyson's personal problems may have cause him to be exposed aganist Douglas, but it certainly would have happened down the line, like in the first holyfield fight. He had the greatest physical tools ever there's no denying that but given his intagibles (or lack thereof), how could you say that he would defeat any of the all-time greats, when he didn't?

He chased him around akwardly for the 1st few rounds, looked like a deer caught in headlights after getting put down, and seemed very clumsy and usure of himself the entire fight. Wlad looked horrible against TOS and TOS had him down to at the end of that fight. TOS had him down in the fourth round and the fight ended in 6. That is not "the end" Not to mention it was a flash knockdown, and Wlad got right up unscathed. He was off balance more than anything. Never thought TOS's strategy was to take him into the later rounds. TOS after that KD was trying to TKO/KO Wlad and was fighting aggressive. Not timidly like before the KD. BULLLLSHIITTTTTT, TOS got his ass handed to him on the platter after that one KD. That was the only moment of the fight when he did not run and he was getting properfucked.
