Interesting. Vitali has strong chin and hasn't been dropped in his carreer. He would have ta size advantage ova Prime Tyson? Who would win if Vitali now fought Tyson of ta 80's?
Douglas was not an all-time great....but he was more talented & skilled than Vitali could dream of being. What he lacked, was the hunger & motivation to turn those gifts into greatness.
For one fight, he put it all together like he always should have....& put in as great a performance as I have ever seen.
Vitali is incapable of such a performance.
I'm not saying that VK is on Douglas' skill level, but Douglas proved my point, that any tall fighter with decent skills and a stiff jab can get to Tyson. I mean, Tyson had some serious problems hurting complete bums early in his career, guys that stood in front of him or laid on the ropes and let him wail away at them, guys quite a bit smaller than VK. VK doesn't have the speed or skills of an in shape Douglas, but he's four inches taller and at least 20 lbs. heavier, and has fairly fast hands, for his size. I'm not saying Tyson wouldn't or couldn't win, I'm just saying that to completely write VK off would be unwise.
someone please tell me what vitali has shown us SO FAR, for us to have a debate.
His style might cause trouble to tyson? I don't think he has the volume of punches to prevent tyson from going to his body while bobbing and weaving (not the hardest task ever since he basically stands up).
Would he have the heart to overcome adversities? getting up from the canvas and continue to work on his plan? maybe, maybe not. We did not see that yet. On the other hand we saw him quitting on an injury.
Does he have the stamina to go in the later rounds with high activity fighter like tyson? we don't know yet
maybe 10 fights from now it will be obvious that vitali can beat tyson in his prime, but for now... it's just bs
Dude, Douglas was able to not only stop tyson, but dominate him for the entire fight with exception of about 30 sec. Whether Tyson was in the fight mentally or not, he was in about the best shape I've ever seen him in, and fought about as well as he ever has. Douglas was no all time great, case in point.

Something people choose to ignore I guess.
Oh but Tyson wasnt in his prime with Douglas  You know, they finger pick Tysons prime. Its not even a span of time, its how he looked in one particular fight.
Thats how dilusional people are. thinking Vitali can beat an all time great.

The 16 people who picked Vitali by an early KO should cease watching & discussing anything boxing related.
is tis ta moment where I start throwin in names? LOL
OK, Leo Pardon, Enayze, N P, EvilSaint, Torino hahahahaha etc.
then that's a chicken move now woulnt it? LOL!
Just show respect to someone much older and bigger then you. You can be thuggin with no consiquence on a web forum, but it's not something you would do on the street would you? ;) I thought so.
If thats you in that picture I'd keep my mouth shut because Mr. Fatterweight here would beat you to pulp kid. ;)

Your missing the point. It was you who was saying that Tyson is over rated.
And Vitali isn't?
He's by far the most over hyped Heavyweight today in contrast to what he's actually acheived.
You scoff at Tyson's wins over Spinks and Holmes, but those are leagues above anyone Vitali's ever beaten.
As a matter of fact, with what Vitali has actually accomplished, he's right on par with the level of competiton a prime Mike Tyson was destroying.
I was merely pointing out that Vitali is as over hyped as they come, and Tyson, regardless of your opinion that he's not a top 25 all time Heavyweight (something you're in a small minority on), he's still levels in Class above Klitschko in a historical context.
And I completely disagree with your simple notion that the fight is a write off because of Vitali's style.
Again, Vitali fights stiff, with his hands down, and stands straight up. That's disasterous in fighting a prime Mike Tyson.
This fight is in no way a walk in the park for Vitali. That's complete non sense.
that's jest ta beauty of :Pwnages!!!!!!!!!!
Though I believe Mike Tyson is the most overrated fighter in history.....one must overrate Vitali Klitschko in order to think he'd have beaten Tyson at his best.
Believe me, Vitali could never muster up the type of performance Buster Douglas did, the night he beat Tyson. He doesn't have the skills.
Tyson would get in on Vitali, & break him down. He'd TKO Klit in the 9th.
Vitali is the best of a horrendous lot. Don't let that mistakingly lead you to believe he beats a prime Tyson, even if prime Tyson is overrated. He was still light years better than either Klit could even dream to be.
