i feel pity for mercer for not getting the decisions for any of those fights. it was very close, he could have won both of them. i think he is the only one who really gave lennox lewis hard fight in terms of skills. he jab successfully against lennox. he had great jab and iron chin.
against corrie sanders - mandatory
purity - felt like fighting him
sad to say ur supporting sum1 who denied 25 million for a rematch, mainly bcuz his mom said not to fight anymore
Any opportunity to continue crying huh?
Lewis made 40 Million in the Tyson fight, and 10s of Millions before that. He had every right to retire when he did, having defeated every fighter he ever faced.
All I said is that it's quite funny you were calling Lewis a bitch for wanting to rematch McCall instead of Mercer, when Wlad's in your sig, who has lost by stoppage to several fighters that he never rematched at all, and in 2 cases had his brother do it for him.
Yea, it would have been much more admirable to get his older brother to avenge his losses for him much like the guy in your sig.

He beat Lewis in my opinion. What bothered me about Lewis is that he never had the ballz to give Mercer a rematch. However the two times he lost he fought tooth and nail (through the courts on both occasions) to fight the guys who KO'd him. Bitchy of him if you ask me.

Lewis had a chocie after the Mercer fight to rematch Mercer, or rematch McCall.
Having been knocked out by McCall, it's really funny to hear people suggest he was afraid to fight Mercer again.
He choose to rematch the guy who knocked him out to try and revenge that loss.
Nothing wrong with that choice, it was a good move for his legacy.
Mercer was also pretty heavy into drugs at that point, and after the Lewis fight, he fought Witherspoon and was out of the ring for a year, and then fought twice in two years. The Lewis fight was really the end of Mercer's prime. His personal life really went downhill in the few years after that.
I love Lewis v. Mercer...easily one of my favorite HW fights...Lennox did prove me wrong that night because I didnt think he was that tough.
The fight could have gone either way, me being the Lewis hater that I am scored it narrowly for Mercer (come to think about it I need to watch it again).
After the fight Mercer offered Lewis 50K out of his own pocket to schedule a remtatch...Lewis then used his greatest weapon which was his brain and declined the remtach to go on to bigger and better things.

I don't think there's anyway he should have been given the nod in the Holyfield fight. He was competitive, but that was clearly Holyfield's fight.
The Lewis fight was much closer, but far from a robbery. It was could have been a draw, or a win for Mercer, but Lewis did a lot of great work in the fight as well. There were a lot of close rounds. It was also a helluva heavyweight fight. It doesn't get enough crefit in that regard. Both guys took and gave brutal hard shots.
