Tucson, Arizona 28th Of October, Marco Antonio Barrera arrived last night to this city and after talking to his associate and promoter Oscar De La Hoya, it has been established that Barrera's next fight will be against Scotland's Scott Harrison or South Korea's Injin Chi.
Against Harrison he would defend his WBC and IBF titles and against Chi he would go down in weight to fight for Chi's WBC Belt.
Barrera wont know for sure who his next opponent will be until next year.

I think Barrera will fight Harrison.
I know that fightas are different, different builds, different capacity. I know all that nah mean? But let's face it, WOULD YOU REALLY GET SCARED fo BARRERA at 135lbs gainst Chavez when he's 3-0 at 130lbs? And last I checked, Chavez jest recently fought once at 135lbs. Even field thurrr IMO.
I know it's a different view, but look at Pacquiao. He started at 106lbs and where he at? He's at 130lbs bout to knock ta fuck out Morales in ta rematch. Same Morales that started as a supa-bantamweight.
You raise good points.
i actually want pacquaio to actually beat morales too when they fight so barrera can have no excuses but to fight him because he will be barreras mandatory, january 21st needs to come quick :boxing:
i agree with you about the barrios and pacquiao part, barrera should want to fight pacquiao more than any other fighter in my opinion, but to say hes a coward for not fighting chavez is wrong, barrera aint even a 130lbs fighter, why is he gonna fight someone at 135lbs?? even 130lbs is a bit much for barrera, 126lbs is his ideal weight, barrera started out at 116lbs i think, hes body aint built for 135lbs let alone 130lbs, he just cant put the bulk on his body thats needed at 135lbs. to capture 3 titles in 3 weight classes is a great achievement for barrera, i understand he has the opportunity to get a title in a 4th weight class , id even want him to do that, but if he decides not to, it dont mean hes a coward.

Chi is tough, no one is sayin he aint. But Barrera is a coward when he has ta opportunity to 1, get a belt at 135lbs gainst Chavez to even solidify his legacy, 2, fight Pacquiao and maybe get revenge fo ta humiliation he received to erase "questions", or 3 fight Barrios to unify belts in which would also help seal ta deal that Barrera is King at 130lbs.
Fightin Chi or Harrison at 126lbs SHOULD BE LAST RESORT. Pac is willing, Barrios is mo willing and same fo Chavez. It's Barrera's choice to be a coward. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Barrera VS any of them 4 would be good fights and if you think chi is a pushover then you must not follow boxing because he's a tough cookie.
what does he gain in fightin In Jin Chi??? Most thing he'll get is insults from Morales' fans sayin Barrera fightin Morales' leftovas. Nyahahahaha. Gimme a break.
Barrera is "top dawg" at 130lbs possesin WBC and IBF belt, top ranking in The Ring, and HE WOULD CHOOSE TO FIGHT IN JIN CHI at 126lbs??!!!!!!!!!!!! It's eitha fuckin idiotic or cowardice to face Pac, Chavez or Barrios. Shame.
Harrison weighs in as a JR. Welterweight in his fights. If you dispute this you will look more foolish than everybody knows you are.
Boxrec's listing of Chi at 5'7 is innaccurate. Just look at the fight between Morales and Chi. Chi was at least an inch taller.

This author lists their height as being equal. If anyone goes back to a tale of the tape before a Chi fight, you may find the listing at 5'9.
you're truly an idiot. So you're basically saying that Harrison is a big threat to Barrera becuz he literally is BIG when he fights??? Truly idiotic at its best. Harrison is nothing. He got a WBO belt waitin to be picked. But I bet you're knowledge prevents you from knowin that. Suggestion: Watch mo boxing.
I din't see that. Morales ia a tall doo, taller than Chi, taller than most if not all opponents he has fought. Ask Merchant and he'll tell you all Morales' fights, he's been bigga and taller than his foes.

Either way, to say that Barrera is a pussy for fighting Chi or Harrison is beyond ignorant.
And YOU are ignoring the fact that Barrera spent the vast majority of his career at 122 or lower.
i agree, barrea can most probably can still make 122lbs if he wanted to, when he comes in on fight night, the highest ive seen him weigh for a fight is around 135lbs, and he was weighing in at around 135lbs on fight night even when he was fighting at 122lbs.
and whats wrong with barrera fighting in jin chi??? no one was complaining when morales fought him, in fact people bring up in jin chi as a good fighter that morales beat, but when barrera has the chance to fight him some people complain, whats with the hate for barrera?? in fact in jin chi has improved a lot since he last fought morales so if barrera did fight him it would be an interesting fight and a good test for MAB.

NYahahahaha. Write yer forehead a vicious :Pwnage cuz In Chi is 5'7 you maroooon! BIgger than Morales ma ass. Do you see Chi fightin at 135lbs??LOL! Let alone being successful at 130lbs like Morales has. Harrison is a featherweight you dimwit!!!! So I guess Cotto will always be a threat to Mayweather cuz he's as big as a milweight when he fights. LOL!!!
Trust me, you aint ready.

Chi, Harrison, Barrios, Chavez.....have we any reason to complain about any of these guys as opponents for Barrera? It is good to see that Barrera is not taking it easy towards the end of his career. If only he had done the same at Featherweight, he would not have been so complacent.
no if he fights Chavez or Barrios.
What an idiotic statement. Chi is huge. Bigger than Morales. He stands at like 5'9. He could easily make 130. Barrera is a blown up Super Featherweight. And when has Harrison ever been less than a Jr. Welterweight in the ring for a featherweight fight?
Against Harrison OR Chi he will be the smaller man. Get your facts straght.

So lemme get tis straight.......it's eitha Barrera fight Scott, who will move up, OR he fights Chi at 126lbs where he would still be ta bigga man? What a pussy.
