Rahman and King settle their differences!
By G. Leon
October 28, 2005 - Don King's attorney Judd Burstein has informed Boxingtalk.com that former undisputed heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman and the world's most famous promoter have resolved their disputes and reached a mutual agreement that nullifies any potential litigations. Although Burstein wouldn't confirm it, King will receive $750,000 from Rahman's purse and Rahman has inked a new contract with DKP that will keep him with King through 2010!
Rock is not as dumb as we are making him out to be. Rock paying out 750 thousand rather then 2.1 million, is the smartest choice for the short term. Plus with King controlling Ruiz, Brewster, Byrd, it makes sense to work with King, then against him. If Rock loses, then he can go after Ruiz, Brewster, and even Byrd, if not then there is not guarantee he will get a title shot for awhile.
It might be true King takes more of your purse then other promoters, but he also generates more from gates, and his promotion for your purse then all the other promoters. Anybody ever watch the Devil’s Advocate in which Don King makes that appearance in that Roy Jones fight scene. There is a reason King is 73 and still going strong ;)
i been trying to get on boxingtalk.net for days and I cant anyone know why???
I think they are upgrading the site and boards. I know it's been down since sometime after Wednesday afternoon.
Who do you post as at BT?
This move just confirmed Rahman is not the sharpest tool in the shed. What an idiot. You can always sign up with Don King. He should have waited until his fight with Vitali ended. If beats Vitali he wouldn't need King thereafter. If he loses to Vitali then he might have considered signing with King only after a new lawyer without any conncetions to the fight game went tooth and nail through the contract.
Don King does not give 2 ____ (cents) about Golota..
He only cares about the polish comunity in Chicago that are willing to pay money each time Golota fights...
The Brewster fight, I think "Golota" did most of the selling
i couldnt agree more.
kings not giving up on andrew cuz andrew sells. the polish american community (like myself) need a strong polish fighter to support. but after his massacre at the hands of brewster, my polish hero is now Tomasz Adamek.
don says hes not giving up on andrew, but i think andrew's gonna retire anyway.

.....Good point, and if he can get Golota shot after shot then why not the Rock.

You're all wrong.
Rahman was on the verge of bankrupcy.
This will assure him a steady string of purses on telivised cards, and probably more title shots.
Otherwise, he would have lost to Vitali and filed for personal bankrupcy and maybe never fought in a serious fight again.
This assures him more paydays, and probably more undeserved title shots.

...Uh Oh, that just opened the door for King to be much more interested in Rahman getting the title. I would check his fuckin gloves for horseshoes and what not. Watch out for the ref warning Vitali for excessive punching until a DQ.
