How do you all feel that the Klitchkos would have fared against the other Great white hopes of the past.
1. Tommy Morrison
2. Gerry Cooney
3. Randall "Tex" Cobb
4. Oscar Bonovena
5. Gerry Quarry
Add any to the list if I forgot any.
If you watch Vitali's fight against Byrd, Vitali was backing up when Byrd would fire on him and he wouldnt counter, or retaliate with anything. If you freeze up when feather-fisted Byrd throws at you then "something just doesnt quite make sense there."
......Are you forgetting that Vitali was a one armed fighter from like the second round on? Come on man. Do you really think Byrd would back up Vitali even for half a round if he was healthy? What Byrd did in that fight(which was very little and his only moments were way late) should be taken for what they were. If Vitali wasn't hurt then Byrd wouldn't have been standing at the end. Not only would he have lost nearly every round, but he would have been sleeping on the canvas as well.
....Hmmmmm, Vitali has never been knocked down in his career but yet he panics and doesn't know what to do when hit? Interesting. Sounds like he should get knocked down alot then. Something just doesn't quite make sense here.
Sure it makes perfect sense. First he has been fed a diet of easy opponente throughout his career. (If it is his fault or the fault of the state of the division is another debate). Just because you don't know what to do when someone returns fire doesnt mean you will go down. Peter and Tua are both too stupid to figure out what to do when a jab is stuck in their face. Equivalating not being able to handle aggressors and getting knockedown is not what I am doing yet it is what you are trying to turn it into. Fortunately for both Klitchkos Manny Steward is in their corners and he has tuaght them how to fight like a big man. If he had not slid into thier corners then they may not have gotten as far as they have now. Both especially Vitali were clumsy on their feet and akward and at first neither fought like a true big man.
I Don't think Wlad would beat Cooney, but Vitali's odds are 3 to 5 for Cooney
Morrison would KO them both
Bonovea took the best of Foreman and kept coming, no way he will get KOed, he beats them to IMO.
Dont know about Quarry, but Ali Koed him fast so both Klitschoes pummel his ass.
oh please,,,,morrison could never deal with strong jabbers and he was a 4 round fighter. wlad and vit would murder him within 6 rounds. and cooney would also fall. he could never beat a puncher in there prime

you either have vit mixed up with wlad or have never seen him fight
I think that Oscar and Tex would have both put a hurting on both of them. Both of those guys were super tough and you know what happens when someone actually throws punches back at the Klitchkos? They both panic in the ring and don't know what to do.
oh please. vitali is cool under pressure and would easiy beat both of those guys. with wlad you never know

morrison and cooney would fall within 6.cobb would be tko'd in 8-10. quarry would have the best chance but probably lose by cut or ud
no, i don't believe he ever fought foreman. i know he fought george chuvalo, but don't recall him fighting george foreman. pretty sure on that. check boxingrec.

Wlad would knock Morrison and Cooney out in less than 4 rounds.
They were simply just not on his level as a fighter.

I don't think Bonavena fought Foreman, did he?
I mean, Oscar was pretty out of it after Ali dropped him with one punch, a hook, not exactly Ali's bread and butter punch. Oscar did fight two good fights against Frazier though, although both of them were fairly early in Joe's career.

vitali would probably beat them all, he has technique and is smart a smart fighter, don't be fooled that he looks like shit while he is doing his thing... it's effective
any punchers with a chin has a big chance with wlad
never seen wladimir panic either. just seen him unsure of what tactic to choose at certain times, which may make him appear panicked to an untrained eye.
one thing wlad, in my opnion, needs to work on is being decisive between punching, boxing, or clinching. the last couple of fights, i've noticed at times he should've punched when he went for a clinch or stepped away instead. he should be more comfortable with time, he's still a young guy. but give him credit, he feels he needs to continue working on his skills and getting better instead of feeling satisfied with the results of his career so far.
