This is more footage of rising pinoy fighter Rey "Boom Boom" Bautista.
He's 19, and currently training with Freddy Roach (along side Brian Viloria and Manny Pacquiao) at the Wild Card gym.
Brutal brutal body shots.
True. But without the shot to the liver, most people, including Oscar, would have had time to get back up in a count of 10. Also, people's legs don't curl up just coz they can't breath.
You're right. I think it's a combination of both. I took a bat in the chest once and couldn't move for like 20 seconds. Getting the wind knocked out of you is a horrible feeling. Not that getting punched in liver is any better...
Strange thing about the liver: when it is hit, your body instinctively will curl up to protect it. When Oscar took a liver shot from Hopkins, he tried to counteract this by laying on his tummy. This guy here that Boom Boom hit, he tries in vain to not curl up but the right leg pulls up an he loses his balance and lands on his knee. Notice how he stay curled up after he's down.
I don't think it's just the liver being hit that causes that reaction. I think it's because it knocks the wind out of you, and freezes your diaphram so it's stuck in a contracted position. Thus the keeling over until it's relaxed.
ok my apologies....after further reveiw i can now see more clearly that the blows were just above the belt. the first time i watched it the feed was lagging and it appeared that they were low
are u really that blind to see it or are u just hating?
i'm not hating anyone or anything. all 3 shots are below the belt and done at perfect timing when the ref was on the other side and can't see it. are they awesome shots? yes. however that are below the belt. they would have still ended the fight if they were above the line probably. but the fact is they are below the belt.
all 3 shots below the belt. very nice work. low blow when the ref is on the other side and can't see it.
are u really that blind to see it or are u just hating?
The fight is stopped after that clip, and they guy lays in pain for about 15 minutes. They bring in a stretcher, but he refuses, and ends up sitting hunched over on his stool pointing at his liver to the doctors examining him.
Unreal how hard those shots were.
