:boxing: i think changing the weight limits a small amount would benefit boxing. guys are constantly getting bigger, its evoution, and the weight classes hsould evolve also. i think they should move the cruiser limit up to 205 or 210 and the light heavy to 180 or 185, they could go from there.....
I think that we should revert to the old days the least a Heavyweght should weigh is 190 the cruiser weight division is a division with talented fights lost in limbo too small for heavyweight ans SOME,too slow for the lighter weight classes.
HVY Wght 190-330(too keep shaq from joining)
Lgt HV Wght max 180
Spr Mids max 168
and so on....... :boxing:
:boxing: Despite the huge size of some of the bigger heavyweights, a skilled powerful fighter with speed could decimate a lot of the big plodders. I always found it strange that being heavyweight seemed like a licence to turn certain fighters into eating machines.
Prime Tyson was flooring plenty of far bigger men. Toney is carrying excess bulk and would IMO be a far better fighter if his weight were less and stamina thusly higher. Byrd has done OK.
In fact Tyson got lesser as his size crept higher. His early training regimes were based on speed, stamina and skill. I am certain he relied on weights in his later career. His weight was certainly far higher.
So true excellent point :boxing:
Because Vitali is scaring the haters :-D
youre exactlty right....i saw right through this thread also.
cooler what would you think about changing weight limits as i stated in my previous post?
Smaller heavyweights have good results against super heavyweights all the time. Why would there be a need for another division? :confused:Because Vitali is scaring the haters :-D
I think they should actually limit the weight for people in the heavyweight division...there is really no reason for a guy over 300 pounds to be fighting unless they are freakishly tall like Valuev...if the guy is 6'1 and 300 lbs he probably ain't going to be a contender...fat guys in boxing (uincluding butterbean) blow

it would be a bunch of ruiz's everywhere. it would be like a big barney and teletubbie marathon
we butted heads on the other thread, but i agree with you on this one.
No like 240lbs. and over like Vitali Wlad Valuev PeterI guess that would make Toney a super-heavyweight very very soon ;-)
EDIT: Wlad is only a few LB over
Will people ever stop picking on the poor guy
All that would happen would be that casual sports fans would ignore all but the super heavy division, which would be full of fat guys, making the sport seem like more of a joke than it already is (seeing as now all they do is focus on the heavies).
No.
And I only say this because that division would be riddled with clinchfests and ballroom dancing contests if enacted. There is enough Sumo on television for anyones health anyways.
