Marciano had like 3 amateur fights and went on to win all of his pro fights.
Jack Johnson started at a late age but for his era it wasn't a big deal. Tarver had a lot of amatuer experience but didn't go pro til his late 20's.
Hard to think of many successful pro fighters with no amateur experience.
Marciano had 12 fights.
If you wanna do the boxing workouts to get in shape, then go for it - run, rope, hit the heavy bag and speedbag, spar, etc. - but as for making a carrear out of it I'd say no, unless you've got a ton of natural talent and not alot of other options...
I wanted to box when I was a teenager but my parents convinced me not to do it - said that I'd probably never make any money at it and would just get hit in the head a whole lot and get who knows what kind of brain damage... so even though I love boxing and I really wanted to do it, I didn't - just studied hard and got a good job and now I watch other people knock the crap out each other for money.
Spend some money on a good, personal trainer, usually $50/hr, once a week, to make sure you learn all the basics, and get on a good training program. Time is of the essence, so don't waste any working out on your own, if you don't know what you should be doing. Once you've got a regimen down, knock yourself out working on what your trainer showed you last week. The more you put into it, the more your trainer will give you to work on.
Then just relax, have fun, and see what happens. Each journey starts with just one step.

Tu es confuso? Joe Jeannette got a late start, not Johnson who was credited with 2 pro bouts before his 16th birthday. Jess Willard didn't have his first pro bout until age 29 and a few years later whupped up on Johnson to win a heavy title. Marciano and Holmes were around 24 when they turned pro.
25 is the expected peak for lighter weights, but if a fighter has natural talent, and more importantly POWER, someone will be interested. He should just go to a gym and work out regularly and make intentions clear. Eventually the aspirant be put in the ring to see what he's got. With no amateur experience the road is much harder, but intelligence and talent go a long wasy.
hmm

I was going for like a month but I felt like I was not getting anywhere nobody helped me....everyone already had ther hands full with there fighters then when someone help me it was only for afew minuets but it was one of those free gyms I payed 75 bucks for the whole year I think I should go to a better gym
That is the same experience I had up here in Minnesota. You have to go to a real gym or take classes on it. Then when you get better you can go back to a USA Boxing amatuer gym and the coaches will be all over you. The one thing good about a USA Boxing gym is that they can get you amatuer fights.

Go for it brother ... are you a big fan of boxing? You should know there have been exceptional guys who got late starts. You'll get good skills for self defense if you work hard and maybe you'll become a good amateur with some perserverance and dedication.
Maybe not an Olympian but still ...
