Why not? Its easy money, ppv potential, and we will finally see Tarver destroyed like many of us want :D
I say Tyson should jump right on the opportunity.
I think what we're seeing here is an extreme reverse of the "Tyson could conquer the world" syndrome. We're now suggesting that someone naturally beneath his weight class could take him out. I'd be prepared to bet 100m that it wouldn't happen, shot Tyson or not. No rose tinted glasses, purely objective view.
your on ;)
there is no such thing as an easy fight for Tyson anymore...dare I say Tarver would win? yes I dare. Please people, Tyson is finished. I don't understand why people can't let go. Tarver is a tall guy who has a nice jab. He could esily fight at 200-210 with that body.
Tyson in prime would eat his children, but that was many moons ago.
I agree it is not out of the question for Tarver to survive an early assault.....WTF would Tyson do if Tarver did last 5 or 6 rounds?Yep thats right become discouraged and quit more than likely. He should stay retired with the little diginity and respect he still has left from the sport.
LOL!!! Tarver is pissing Jones Jr off by tryin to accomplish his dream!!! LOL! It'd be HUGE day fo Tarver if he KOes Tyson. Bet Jones would be jealous.

Tarver was intimidated by the one or two uppercuts Roy landed on him and became less active in their last fight ... if Mike threw one and MISSED, Tarver would soil himself!
I agree with this post 100%.
better if he fight opponents on lower level, gain some momentum, train harder, then fight elite, that is, if time (and possibly money) permits.
Listen McBride is shit but he's a big, strong shit. He easily outmuscled Tyson in the clinch, was too tall to hit cleanly in the head, and offered only a robust, flab reinforced body for a target. He survived Tyson because of his size and strength. Tyson could have cut him down in a few rounds, but it wasn't worth it to him. He decided to quit.
Now I would bet my house that Tyson would ice Tarver at any point in his career. Tarver is a skinny, skinny, dude with a bird like build. One Tyson left hook, to the head or body, would put him in serious trouble. Tyson, even a sixty year old version, knows what to do when a guy is hurt.
I have no love for Tyson but he would kill Tarver. I can't see Tarver beating any experience heavyweight puncher with his bone structure and less than stellar reflexes.
He won't go any higher than cruiser if he knows what's good for him.
Tyson would get KOd. If that guy Tyson just lost to can withstand his assault I know a more talented Tarver can too.

No offense, but I don't see Tyson winning another fight in the ring unless he fights burnouts that are really BURNT OUT, or up and comers that have less than ten fights. All Tarver has to do is throw straigt combos and use lateral movement for 4 or 5 rounds, which will wear Tyson out, and if Tyson doesn't quit by then, Tarver should step in the 6th will hard pressure and he will secure either a KO or TKO. Either way, Tyson is done. Let his legacy die with what dignity it still has left.
