I was reading a Steve Kim article a few minutes ago on MAX and he said (I believe he was serious)that Davryl Williamson and Chris Byrd (who are friends) had dinner together the night before the fight. After one of the all-time worst fights you could ever lay your eyes on does this bother you that two fighters are chatting it up enjoying each others company hours before they are suppose to go to war? If the fight would have actually had a few punches in it I probably would not be upset but the fact that the fight was hardly a fight and that they were together the night before bothers me a bit. Showtime and the fans got ripped off, plain and simple! Chris Byrd is a bitch and Williamson is a pussy, I dont care if they are fighters and if someone comes back with a post about how they must repoect every fighter that puts on gloves and yadayadayada... Chris Byrd hurts the sport and chillin the night before a fight with the enemy is bullshit, especially when you put forth a performance like we saw. does this bother anyone else? I could understand having dinner the night before a championship fight with my friend, but I would stil have to bust his ass when we step in the ring regardless, but I do have a problem with byrd and williamson doing it and then stepping the ring, and putting on the performance they did..that shit was utterly sickening...I could share the same bunk with my oppenent teh nigth before, but I will surely still try to knock your head off in our match the next day, you know that's what "real" men do...and from them gay ass facial espresion byrd was making all night, I doubt if he is a real man, boxer or not... He is a B8tch and in the ring he does as bitches do, run and slap all night...

BEST FRIENDS MADE A G-R-E-A-T FIGHT WHEN SIMON BROWN FOUGHT MAURICE BLOCKER. THAT was a great battle, tough fight, back and forth and these guys REALLY were best friends. They lived near each other. These other guys might be 'friends' but they dont live a couple miles from each other and hang out like THAT. Brown and Blocker did but it didn't prevent them from having a WAR that Simon won by TKO in 10. ICE

Why does Byrd keep ending up in the ring with his buddies...mcCline and him were like best pals to..yeah it bothers me a little I would rather they don't act all friendly for the weeks building up to the fight even if they are friends in life....They need to fight like they want to win not like they don't want either to get hurt.

when friends fight, its always gonna be boring cuz they dont wanna hurt each other. byrd and TOS are friends: HORRIBLE fight byrd and mcline are friends: bad fight rahman and barrett are friends: HORRIBLE fight jones and tarver are kinda friends: bad third fight its ok to be friends after the fight and never fight each other again. but friends dont let friends fight each other.

Yes, the guys are friends, and just like Barrett-Rahman, they didn't fight each other like fighters, they fought like sparring partners. That's why most matches between old friends or sparring partners don't result in alot of action. One exception that I can think of is DLH-Mosley...
