I agree with you that Mayo is not afraid to get hit, but the thing is De La Hoya is far too discipined to fall into Mayo's game plan. Do you think that Oscar is going to let himself get hit like Vernon? No, I don't think so. Vargas said the same thing about Oscar that was going to demolish him. Even with steroids he was taken out! Now I'm not saying that Oscar will come out and have a perfect night, not at all, the man will not have fought in a year and a half! Of course he is going to have ring rust. But what I am saying is that when Mayo puts his guard down and taunts Oscar to hit him, Oscar is not going to get careless and fall into his gameplan. De la hoya will have a difficult time with mayorga at 154. I still think DLH will find a way to win. If cory spinks can bitch slap his way to victory then De La Hoya can too, Majorga better avoid Oscar.

And Yes you are right Mayo did beat a GOOD boxer in V Forrest, but look what happened, V.F. walked right into Mayo's gameplan. He should have stuck to his plan and boxed him, and he would have still been champ that night. I think Maajora is tailor made for Oscar, easy points win, make the fight. Just don`t put him in with taylor or Hopkins!

Why is there so many Oscar haters out there? The guy is like 30 or 31 years old, and Mayorga is way overrated to even come close to beating him, in my opinion. I'm sure Oscar wouldn't come back and put himself in harms way if he didn't feel he couldn't beat Mayo. Tell me, when was the last time Mayo fought and beat a world class BOXER with the caliber and style of De La Hoya? And for those that think Mayo will knock out Oscar, I think it has been proven already that the man can take a punch, the only KO he has is to a naturally bigger man, who threw a well landed shot to the body. I don't know how many of you actually box, but you get a shot like that and I don't care who you are, how many crunches/sit-ups you do, you are going down and staying down for the count. If this fight really happnens I predict another fight similar to the De La Hoya vs Vargas fight. Mayo will come out strong trying to throw that big punch to put away De La Hoya, while Oscar will keep on boxing and moving, using that good jab of his and in the late rounds put the "smoking, drinking, and womanizing while I train" Mayorga out.

I just think it'd be tragic if he went out with 2+ KO losses or even losses, anything is possible, Mayorga beat a great boxer in Forrest. I agree, better even if he fight a bum just for the show. he`d look good and win. Then we`d remember that. I think he has lost the desire for a hard title battle. His last good performance was the 2nd fight with Mosley, when he lost, i think thats when he lost the heart for the battle. Its a shame, because he did beat Mosley that night!

I'd rather see him fight Vargas again. Mayorga has the WBC belt and Vargas has none, so maybe DLH wants the belt, and it is a new name on his resume rather than doing a rematch with a guy he KO'd.
