Peter was a high profile fight, and his fight for the WBO or IBF title in the early spring will be a big fight.
He's stated that he wants a tune up in December, and that's fair.
However, his camp had better be very careful who they select.
In my mind, the problem with Wlad is that he'd blow through Byrd again, but is more at risk of losing to a tune up level opponent.
They'd just better make sure it's not a journeyman with a big punch.
How about Byrds wife?
Well I have no idea who Wlad will fight next but the only way Ruiz/King would fight Wlad is if Wlad was their #1 contender! Also Brock is fighting Bostice in November I believe.
oh everyone knows we will never see ruiz step into the ring against a klitschko. but you cant blame a guy for daring to dream.

I can see where you think it would be bad for Wlad to get in with a big punching journeyman.
In reality i bet they dont want to fight one for different reasons.
Firstly you put him in there with a guy like Lance Whittaker and hed knock him out in 2 rounds. it would be counterproductive to his reasons for wanting to fight (get rounds, stay sharp).
I see him taking a fight over someone known more as a boxer puncher. someone who would be good work before byrd.
though i think wlad will fight brewster next, i think he gained knowledge from the peter fight on how to drag Brewster out, knows what he needs to do already.
I wouldnt mind seeing Wlad/Ruiz just to get rid of that boring fuck as champ
Ruiz would get everything short of murdered in that fight. I am not joking in that his health might be in serious jeopardy.
Ruiz holds his gaurd up high, and tries to initiate the clinch.
Wlad would knock his gaurd down with his left hand, and land straight rights on the quiet man.
That fight would not go the distance.
They'd just better make sure it's not a journeyman with a big punch.
Journeyman with big punch = Wrong for Wladimir Klitschko.

I would think Byrd would be the quickest fight to sign. Byrd wants to stay active, Wlad wants to stay active. Byrd wants to see $$$, Wlad can bring in some $$$. King wants to get rid of Byrd, Wlad is can help King out.
I think a Brewster re-match will not happen until mid next year. For Wlads marketability, K2 should not throw too many power punchers in a row against Wlad. Not only does Wlad have a good chance of losing, against Power punchers Wlad does not look as good when he wins. Mix em up a bit.
I see Toney being more interested in a fight with Vitali than Wlad. Brock is not out of the question. Mcbride would be a quick night. Williamson would welcome a real payday.
I think Toney is a real possibility, unless Toney chooses to fight Byrd first.
A rematch with Sam Peter will be very interesting.
He will fight Byrd or Brewster in April.
Maybe Sanders?
He should get rid of Ruiz, Toney wont stand a chance, no power to hurt Wlad and big height disatvantage, plus he never fought a guy with as much power as Wlad...just a mismatch. So Ruiz looks like a good warm up.
As far as I heard, Ruiz is going to fight Valuev on Dec. 12 in Germany. I think Wlad is going to fight someone from top 50 so he can KO the guy and bring more of his confidence back up. Another possibility is that he was just dicking around when he was talking about a December fight.

It'll be a top 50 type fighter, probably Euro, though a Ray Austin type is an American type that would provide some work. He just wants to stay sharp and in shape for 2006.
Wlad should beat toney. He uses his height to his advantage and i dont think toney has the pop in his punch at heavyweight to drop Klitschko. Toney would do well to try and fight Byrd because that bout could make a huge live gate in Michigan, It would sell out Joe Louis Arena most likely as both men are Michigan natives. I wouldnt mind seeing Wlad/Ruiz just to get rid of that boring fuck as champ
I like Toney to beat everyone in the division besides the klitschkos, and im not completely convinced he cant.
but ill have to see him do it to believe it, the height advantage is just so extreme and toney doesent possess any serious KO power against an opponent so large
I agree with Run with knives, he should fight Brewster and prove he is one of the better heavyweights out there!
Just to clarify for you guys.... you seem to have missed the point.
Byrd or Brewster will have to defned their title against Wlad around april next year according to the rules.
Wlad has said he wanted to fight in the interim before that title bout. sometime in december.
That rules out brewster and byrd. i dont see him taking the risk of fighting toney, he is an excellent fighter and it would be a mistake for wlad to fight him with so little time to really prepare. im guessing he might fight a dominic guinn caliber fighter.... Has anybodyt heard any names floated around that would actually make some sense??
I personally think he should rematch Brewster.
Set wrongs from right. He should win the rematch...being the better fighter.

james toney. He said he wanted to fight in a month. This will answer alot of questions about toney's legitmacy vs a big heavyweight

have they said anything at this point? any good matchups come to mind. how about purrity?
If they can get him out of the wheelchair.
I personally think he should rematch Brewster.
