and.....Vernon Forrest News too!

Okay, according to the boxing schedule I have, Vernon will be fighting again Oct. 21st...Elco Garcia. Anybody ever heard of him and know what he's got to offer as far as competition goes? On a side note, I noticed that there is a PPV scheduled for Oct. 29th and the card goes like this: Ratananchai Sor Vorapin vs. Jhonny Gonzalez Fernando Montiel vs. Pramunansak Phosawan Hugo Cararez vs. Kaichon Sor Vorapin Is this a joke? Or something Don King is doing? I've only even heard of Jhonny Gonzalez and Montiel and both were fighting on HBO Latino! What happened to charging ppv prices on well known, popular names and very anticipated fights and rematches??

Just saw that the Forrest fight will be broadcasted on the best damn sports show like the Glen Johnson fight tonight was. Glad to hear that, I like Forrest.

ah ha...I know calderon actually. I'd have to double check my documents, but may have even seen him live?? :confused: He's is very good for a little 'un :D Small guys are good for other things too. My girl, you should pay attention to 105 champion,Ivan Calderón, if you haven't. Pure skill and defense. A true wizard who I think could have done a geat job against Ricardo "Finito" López. ah ha...I know calderon actually. Ive seen Montiel a few times but like you I wasnt that impressed. Gonzalez may get somewhere in the sport...have to wait til he takes on a couple of the 'big' names to know for sure. Cazares is unknown to me simply cause of the 108..I dont pay enough attention to that division obviously. :o My girl, you should pay attention to 105 champion,Ivan Calderón, if you haven't. I have seen Montiel and personally think he sucks. I think he injured or killed some other boxer, but I can not believe that since Montiel style is not Gatti-like or anything. Hugo Cázares is the WBO 108 pound champion and has defeated three Puertorricans in a row(Miguel Del Valle, Nelson Dieppa, and Alex Sánchez). if you all would go to boxrec.com you would see that it says "fights will be shown live on HBO Latino". as for forrest fighting that was announced like 2-3 weeks ago. maybe so, I've just always waited til the beginning of each new month to print my schedule out so thats why I'm just now bringing up the forrest fight....2-3 wk's later. I dont go to boxrec for anything other than records.

Its a Golden Boy Promotions thing, but I thought I heard that it will just be on regular HBO instead of PPV because HBO thought they have had enough PPVs this year. that sounds more like it cause I'm used to seeing Gonzalez and Montiel both on HBO latino. What a relief..they just need to change that on the schedule already cause thats rediculous! :eek:
