I saw an episode of HBO's One Night Stand the other day, & Bill Burr was the comedian (white guy from Chappelle's Show)....he said something to the effect of how he used to be scared of all black men when he 1st got to New York, but now he's only scared of black guys with dirty shoes, because once a black man has let-go of his fashion sense, he no longer gives a F*$% about anything or anybody (somethin to that effect)..... if Bill Burr's words mean anything (they probably don't but whatever), then Tarver better be scared-shitless, because if Roy doesn't care about his flossy beard anymore, he definitely doesn't care about Tarver's health & well-being!!! just thought I'd throw this out there, in case anybody saw Bill Burr on HBO (I'm gonna see him live a week from Sunday at Punchline SacTown) dude, burr is the fukken man ... i watched his HBO one night stand On Demand last night again - that fool is mad funny. I forgot that he was on Chapelles show - the race draft dude. i agree, if there is any truth to his comedy - tarver's in for a long night.

hmm Jones did a 3 a day for Ruiz and for the majority of his career...No wonder he fallen off if he went from 3 times a day to 1 and is only doing 2 now...Come on it is the biggest fight of his life, he should be training he like he did for Ruiz. 2 a days are PLENTY. The reason Roy did 3-a-days for Ruiz is because he was lifiting weights in one of those sessions. Obviously he is not going to be lifting weights anymore trying to make 175 lbs. He's doing the same thing he did for Ruiz scratch the weightlifting.

I agree definately not a lucky punch but I also think Tarver couldnt land that punch again if his life counted on it...It wasnt lucky and it wasnt a shot that Tarver thought would be the last one thrown in that fight. Roy may be aiming for the "warrior has no time to clean up" look....or maybe he really is so into the fight, he can't be bothered by hygiene/grooming ? Listen.....I think those who say Tarver scored a "lucky punch" need to really think about that. "Tarver closed his eyes" is what people point to when they try to back up the "lucky" NONSENSE. It takes two to tango.....& Roy must be some kind of reflex-shot dope to get caught by a closed-eyes haymaker like that ! Those who describe it as such, sell out their boxing knowledge a bit. You're unable to accept reality .....& would hate to hear someone say something like Roy's KO of Virgil Hill was lucky, as well. lets take a look at all of the advantages tarver has going for him: - he just KO'd roy - he feels like he won the 1st fight too - he just beat 2nd the guy to KO roy - roy's been inactive for over a year - height - reach - southpaw - buddy mcgirt on top of all that, roy is a step or two slower than in his prime and his ability to take a punch seems to be decreasing and he's become easier to hit and outwork... it just doesnt look good for roy...

I would really like Roy to win. I just have a bad feeling, that, because of his unorthodox style & heavy reliance on his unbelieveable reflexes to get him out of the way of punches, that once it's gone.... it's gone. History is littered with guys who held on too long, thinking that they had a bad night etc... well Roy has had two, now. I'm hoping this isn't the third, but I'm thinking Tarver is going to get him out of there relatively easily & before the 6th. If Roy's legs are gone, he's a sitting duck. If not, he may be able to do what he always did - make himself impossible to hit & win a decision. I hope so, but think not.

I am? Sorry, didn't mean to be repetitive. Tell you what's on my mind... I bought a magazine that asked if this was "a fatal mistake" for Roy. Unsettling choice of words... Not a problem no reason to apologize, I found humor in it but considering the circumstances it was just the wrong timing I guess...That magazine perhaps was using the wrong choice of words but I will tell you what. When I seen Johnson knock Roy out cold, I thought something seriously was wrong and was thinking McClellan all over again...If Jones does wins this fight even impressively I hope he retires. I doubt he could get up for any other fight, including the Johnson fight.

SpinxJinx, isn't the image at the bottom in just a little bad taste considering Leavander was only last week? As for Roy... if he fights WITH the beard, won't it give his detractors plenty to jeer?
