Scott Harrison Opponent named today

very true mate, pac made the jump from 122 to 126 very well, i think he's too heavy at 130 though. hussien fought larios last year i think, but even if he's "bedded in" at 126 i still don't see it lasting long. whatever harrison's limitations as a boxer, he's as strong as a bull at the weight.

so hussien's only losses came against pac and larios, which means he's a 122lb fighter moving up to fight the strongest guy in the division. don't see this going long. naz used to do the same thing, trying to look good against smaller men. He's been fighting at 130 for a while I think :confused: Pacman moved up from a much lower weight as well and no one would complain about that would they ;)

Joan Guzman is more than just a satisfactory opponent for Scott IMO. But you have to remember that not all fans are hardcore boxing fans. If an average fan has never heard of his opponent before, then they'll probably think the opponent is shit. Think of it as if you're watching a sport that you're not very familiar with and how would you go into judging the matchups. I tell you what mate it's good to have a discussion with a Pac fan without all the stupidness, u make some good points :boxing: Morales & Pacquiao are fighting so they're off limits until the middle of next year probably and the Marquez fight is the worst possible style match for Scott imo so I doubt his management will go for that, Guzman's a good fight if you ask me but if your talking champions personally i'd go for Chi (As I said I'm not a Harrison defender, I don't care about him being seen as no.1 cos I don't believe it's possible! just as long as he takes the fights if they're offered)

And for your previous post, fair enuff I hear what your saying and I ain't a big Harrison defender but it's the notion of if people haven't heard/saw a certain fighter in action then he's labelled as shit that I don't care for. I'd like to see him fighting the elite in the division as they would be action packed while they lasted(not all of them winnable, Chi I would favour Scott to beat but the rest would paste him imo) Joan Guzman is his mandatory and the match is being mooted for early next year (If he gets past Hussein of course!)so would Guzman be a satisfactory opponent for you even though he's not elite? No Guzman would not be suitable he is just talked about as a great prospect even though a former world champ he has to fight Marquez next to prove his is a great champion

It was confirmed last night that the opponent will be Nedal Hussein 39-2. A decent choice his only losses came to Oscar Larios (Though widely on points) and Pacman by tko10 but I hear he gave Pacman a real tough fight though it was a weight below, Hussein has been weighing around the 130 mark recently so Harrison may not have the weight advantage he usually does when he gets in the ring. Anyone see the Hussein/Pacman fight? how'd it go? Pac was knocked down Hussein's jab, can you believe that LOL. But we all know him as relentless punching machine, he caused a cut on Hussein and the ref stopped the fight. Pac's chin was very much underestimated when he fought the three popular Mexican fighters especially with the Morales fight. Pac haters always say "If he was dropped by Hussein's jab, imagine what would Morales' overhand right do to him." LOL @ those haters.

I just want to rephrase my statement about Scott, since he has a belt, he needs to fight "elite" fighters and not "heard of 'em" fighters. "Heard of 'em" fighters are just gatekeepers. Fighters like McCullough, Abelyan, Polo, Brodie, etc are just gatekeepers. If Scott wants to get a name in boxing, he needs to fight fighters like Chi, Juarez, Pac, Marquez and if you're getting the trend, they made their names appearing in American Boxing(HBO & SHO). I know it's kindda sad, an average fan will only heard of certain fighters when they appear in big American networks but that's the way it is.

featherweight Champ Scott Harrison will have his opponent for his 5th nov bout named later today(thurs) The opponent will have known for a week or two already therefore will be in training already and be prepared for the bout within plenty of time. Guzman is mo logical. Pac is at 130lbs and is scheduled already fo Morales rematch. Guzman vs Harrison would be fuckin awesome. It's evenly matched in ma opinion.

i hope its joan guzman so he can get rid of harrison for good. harrison sucks, guzman will destroy him they need to put it on the undercard of lacy-pemberton on nov.5 I wouldn't exactly say he sucks, a bit limited sure but usually only with boxer/mover types, Guzman will fight him so it's a 50/50 fight (I like Guzman but he's not really proven at 126) and no way will it be Guzman for this defence, that's a big fight & won't happen until next year, Harrison is fighting in Scotland in November so it won't be on the Lacy card, Hussein was being mentioned a couple of weeks ago but i'm not sure now, we're supposed to hear who today but nothing yet.

I pretty sure that Guzman is the #1 contender to his belt so that fight is a big possibilty. I hope that fight comes off. I want to see Guzman in a big fight & soon.
