It has been said that if Diego Corrales beats Jose Luis Castillo again on October 8th that he wants to move up to 140 and challenge Ricky Hatton. How do you think he would do against the best at 140, specifically these three guys:
Miguel Cotto
Ricky Hatton
Floyd Mayweather (rematch)
I think he could take Cotto in a great technical fight, Hatton in a war and then lose again to Mayweather, but not as bad as he did the first time.
Thoughts?
i think he'd lose to hatton by ko 10th or 11th he'd beat cotto cause of cottos inexperience and unknown chin probably 8 round ko and mayweather would just embaress him again PBF is just to fast for him

I'd love it if both Castillo and Corrales step up, that would make for some great fights.
Frankly if Corrales beats Castillo again I think he could give Cotto some problems. They dont get much tougher than Castillo the man is top class. If Cotto wasnt so big I would surely say he beats him, i put this as a toss up.
I do think he knocks Ricky Hatton silly, Hatton simply dont fit in Castillo's shoes in his abilities as a fighter and would be a walk in the park for Corrales compared to Castillo.
I feel he looses to Floyd again, unless he is able to catch with a really good shot but thats unlikely as his best punch seems to be the left hook and Floyd never drops his right hand.
If he beats castillo i think he will actually stay at 135 Depending on what happens on the september 10th card because Morales' fight with Raheem is a WBC championship elimination bout, and no one is going to give him a bigger pay check than Morales.
Castillo is 5'8 and Cotto is 5'8, put their pictures up and lets compare whos bigger...

His arms dwarf JLC's.

Yeah thats what I'm saying, he tall, and moved up three weights and is still skinny, and how about Castillo, he is as tall as Cotto, and has more mass than him..if they moved up, they would still look the same, where Cotto showed the weight in the Corley fight...
Cotto is bigger than Castillo even man. He should be fighting at 154 because of his frame. He looks like a damn junior middleweight...and you know what is funny?
his second fight of his career he weighed in at 144 against Jacob Godinez officially. Thats pretty bad when he is struggling to make 140. Castillo is a monster but I'm not sure if he hits harder than Cotto.

Run, Corrales is 5'10, he is bigger than Cotto...why did Corrales start at or below Super Featherweight?
Look at his frame though. Taller yes.
Miguel is way bigger dude. Chico is skinny as fuck.

I think Chico will KO Hatton or Cotto. But Mayweather will beat him again. :)
Tall order man. Do you think Chico's chin would hold up to Miguel's punches? I mean seriously. He has a big heart, and is the co-king with Castillo at 135 but Cotto is struggling to make 140 dude. I dont see that at all....I actually see Corrales getting his ass handed to him.
Cotto come fight time would weigh in around 154 and completely bang Chico's skinny frame like crazy.

corrales could beat maussa (a LOT of fighters can beat maussa)
corrales could POSSIBLY beat cotto.
corrales cant beat hatton.
corrales wont even land a punch against floyd again.
corrales should stay at 135, make some defenses, then test the water at 140.
your totally ruling out any possibilty that chico beats hatton???
i dont think that is wise...hatton, imo has only faced one quality opponent, i believe he is being overrated by many

I'm a huge Tito fan....& I think Corrales has always been a little harder a puncher.
Also, Trinidad didn't one-punch KO anym ore fighters than did Corrales, & I thought was what you were basing their power on ?
Just making the point that it's not that hard to find a guy that has blown people out like Chico has. Granted, Tito's pretty much done whether he fights again or not, and Chico's far from done, so we'll see what else he does. DLH was also a devastating puncher at the lower weights, but for a different reason. He didn't have the outright power that Chico does.
Just off the top of my head, Tito IMO is easily just as devastating a puncher as Chico is, if not more.

It's hard to score one-punch KO's over world-class opposition.
Put him with a string of mediocrities & I'll guarantee he takes many of them out with one shot.
Again....tell me who hurts, drops, or KO's world class opposition the way he does ?

Let me put it this way, how many one-punch Ko's does he have?
Yes overall, he is a devastating puncher, but there are too many
that accomplish the same feat as he does to say that hands down he is the most devastating puncher in boxing. I mean, he never dropped Manfredy with one shot and kept him down, and the Gainer fight was a bad stoppage. Freitas just quit, he could have continued.

just want to point out that hatton is 5'6" and has a really short 67" reach next to corrales 5'10" and 70" reach.
a beefed up 140 corrales out brawls hatton.
Oh yeah, I wasn't saying he had T Rex arms or anything, just saying his arms aren't exactly what you'd expect from a 6' fighter, that's all.
Who hits harder, in your opinion ?
