Does anyone know what's going on with him? I'm originally from Pittsburgh, and used to work out with him before he "made it big". Anyways, last I heard before I moved to Columbus, he shot his girlfriend in the stomach for hitting a curb in his Hummer and popping a tire. She didn't press charges against him, and his sentence was reduced or suspended or something along those lines.
Does anyone have any clue what he's up to, and when he's going to get back in the ring? I doubt a lot of you like him or his style, but after working with him, he's got a helluva lot more talent than people give him credit for, other than the fact he hits like my sister.
His problem is where he grew up and the people he kept close to him.
McKees Rocks, where he's from, isn't a very friendly place, and Spit exemplifies the attitude for the area. He always tried to be the hard ass from the Rocks, regardless of his elevating fame. He didn't have a drug problem, just an "I want to be a bad ass" stigma.
He could compete with the lightweights/junior welter's out there, but he lacks the punch to put any of the big names down.
Since he's still pretty young, being in prison for 2-4 is going to hurt him, however he can come back strong and continue his career if he has his head on straight, hopefully.
Spadafora lived under a porch when he was a kid...That place was brutal to him, the cops have always been on his ass and kept him under a microscope...I am surprised he got love from Mckees Rocks, but his billboards were plastered all over the town and cities around for Iron City Beer....Spadafora was a great asset to pittsburgh/wv.
hes still finished. after jail guys usually suck
ali wasnt as good
tyson wasn't
bowe isnt
n spadafora wont be iehter
He is actually in drug rehabilitation center at a minimum security prison...Spaddy is being taken care of...But noway will he make an impact, in fact I truly believe even though he was young that his skills were already eroding.

I would be far from shocked to see him lace them up again, actually I'd be shocked if he didn't lace them up again.
He is still young, and drug/alcohol problem or not, he will fight again. Rather it be because he regained some urge to compete again, or if he just needs money.
Spadafora would be right there with everyone in the lightweight division but he is in the slammer getting light weighted.

Yeah, he always seemed very promising when we watched him work out or when he was fighting at Mountaineer. Hopefully he's handled well and moves up progressively with difficulty.
Do you know when his next fight is or where it is? I'd think about driving back to Pittsburgh to watch him fight.
He just had a pretty tough fight and no fight has been scheduled in the future...He is pretty active and I would imagine a fight would be announced in the next month or so....I seen all of his fights at the Mountaineer but he only had a 12 fight deal and had one in vegas and came back to the Mountaineer....So it is hard to tell where he will land but his promoter is the owner of the Mountaineer so I assume we will see him again soon.

Damn, that really sucks. The kid had so much talent but had the damn McKees Rocks chip on his shoulder. Such a waste.
What about Verquon Kimbrough? Last I heard he was 4-0 with 2ko's and was looking better and better.
Yeah it is a shame Spadafora didnt get to fight a top 5 challenger...Even though the lightweight division would kill him today.
Kimbrough is now like 13-0-1 or something like that, he is my number one prospect and just got his first recognized title. I sparred with Verquan in the gym excellent fighter...I believe he will be a force to the lightweight division in the next two years...

He is in jail for the shooting of his girl. His appeal to receive 6 months bootcamp was rejected and thrown out and can spend up to 2 years in prison...His career is done...He is our "hometown" kid and I am a fan as well and am family friends with his promoter Michael Acri....But he is finished bro.
