He's got resolve, that's about where it ends. He tries to fight like a cross between Tyson (defense) and Holy (those hook-haymaker cominations) and if Wlad would have thrown more right uppercuts, we wouldn't even be talking about his sorry ass. He has power, and a chin...nothing else, no skills, he's not overly agressive (except for the Golota fight). Lamon is very good, at least realtive to other WBogus title-holders.... I'd put him above Morrison, Hide, Akinwande.... I think Mercer had a better chin & a better jab than Brewster.... in today's heavyweight landscape, he's easily top 5 and would be competitive with any other heavyweight.... Lamon Brewster is worse then Lance Whitaker.

Brewster lost 4 extremely one sided rounds to Wlad, 4 embarrassing rounds to Wlad, He as in Brewster has also lost to journeyman Clifford Ettienne and Charles Shufford and people can make a very good case that Brewster also lost to journeyman Keli Meehan This is all true. Wlad kicked the crap out of Brewster the first 4.5 rounds and Brewster was lucky to survive round four.

You have to like him just for the Wlad fight. Heart like that can make up for a lot of the inadequacies of his game. The question is whether he's as good as he looked aginst Golota or as bad as he looked against Meehan. He's too inconsistent to be a threat to real elite heavies (if any ever show up) I think the fight with Meehan was a friendly gesture on Brewster's part -- Brewster exerted just enough effort not to knock Meehan out. I really believe that.

Wlad schedules better opponents than Vitali, so it's hard to compare the two... Vitali has never been stopped(KOd), Wlad has, Vitali was winning every single fight he has lost, Nobody in their right mind can really say Byrd beat Vitali by dominating him or outboxing Vitali, Byrd came out lucky VKs arm was messed up, Lewis was also behind in the Vitali fight 4-2, The fight was stopped due to the ring Dr., Vitali still wanted to fight Lennox.
