It always happens in boxing. People get overconfident.
I guarantee it will be one major factor which fucks Floyd Mayweather in the ass one day.
i feel like it already did in the first castillo fight, but luckily it looked like he learned his lesson because he looked good for the rematch, and he trains ridiculously hard, even for gatti. one question, floyd started boxing waaay younger than naz and jones, but he looks to be in good shape still. what do you think of that?
I dont know if Hamed used weights, i would imagine he didn't do too much of em though. But this i know..... At this point in time, he sure doesn't look like he is

Ya strong leg muscles can have a great effect on your power as they can easily serve as a strong base. From there it's like you shift your energy from the legs, to your upperbody, into your arms. Your arms don't need to be that big, they are more like the end of the lance just waiting to be jabbed out. Look at Manny, he doesn't seem to have much power unless he's throwing himself forward with a strong leg plant. It's all in the technique though I guess.
I thought he was more like 24-26, he relies on speed a lot and when you hit 29-30 that is definately on the decline.
yea thats what i was thinking too but like thagreatest said he trains hard. his speed will slow down a lil but that natural but he will still be faster than every1 else.
I hate Floyd..but facts are facts..
He talks shit because he trains so hard and backs it up, he is confident because he knows he trains so hard n knows his abilities..
exactly, anybody can talk shit but floyd back it up with a full assualt. until some1 can beat him , pbf can talk till his gums bleed. and yea juyjuy he is 28

floyd has been cocky all his lifeand it wont change. the only thing thats could slow him down his father time but i dont see that happening anytime soon. hes what? 28 i think
28? I didn't know he was that old!

The thing about Floyd though is that he trains SO fuckin hard...I hear that like nobody trains as hard as him..
That will all change if he begins to believe his own hype i think....

Ya, Hearns...
Michael Moorer and Gerald McLellan could've been just as good, maybe even better, but their aroogance and over confidence fucked it up for em

Why do you think Naz got bored with boxing? It's because he started so young. Roy Jones came very close to walking away from boxing in 1995/1996 so he had to take up bastketball, it's because he started at 10 years old.
17 is fine, I honestly wish I started in my 20's so that it would of been more of a challenge and training would never become lacklustre and would never get bored with it.
You're fuckin right man!
Those words, just changed everything!
Cheers mate!
Lol yeah he did. But i would love to see him confront the bullys now. I still see Hamed as an idol and probably will do for most of my life, despite his shortfalls.

Me and my cousin were watching his fight vs Kevin Kelley...
During his entrance..my cousin said,"This guy looks like a pansy that got picked on at school!"
He was right! lol

True story.
To answer the point. He was 7 when he started. And it was down to the fact he was the victim of racially motivated bullying at the school he went to.

Ingle was on the top deck of a bus that was driving up a hill, he looked out of the window and there was a miniture little six-year old Arab kid being picked on by a street gang - they couldn't land a single punch on him! and Ingle fought to himself 'boy, that little kid can move!'. Not long after, the kid's father took him and his brothers to Ingle's gym and asked Ingle if he could learn them to box because they were being picked on and racially abused. That little kid was Naseem Hamed.
