A few things struck me in this chat. 1 is that the fans were telling him I hope your not fighting Mitchell and then Floyd will say "I dont know who Im fighting yet but I just want good fights". Hopefully if he keeps hearing this then it will make him feel dumb and not fight Mitchell.
2nd is that I thought it was funny when he said that Zab needs to get off them undercards.
3rd and by far the biggest is that he said that Arum said that Zabs father told him that Zab needed a year before he fights Floyd. Do you buy it? I dont know. To me, Im sick of all these boxers lying and making crazy money demands. Give the fans what they want and stop BSing

No, the WBC said when Floyd was at 135 that he wanted to fight Hatton in his 1st fight at 140 and Hatton turned him down and I believe that because Hatton was fighting all bums at the time. Also since the Gatti fight I have read plenty of interviews with Hattons managment and trainers and they all say they want Mayweather but not now. They all say it will be a bigger fight next year and stuff like that so I do believe he has again turned Floyd down. I dont believe Hatton would jump straight from Tszyu to Floyd. He wants a easy fight or 2 in between.
I dont know if I believe him about Zab but I do believe him about Hatton because I have heard Hatton's people say it
Yep i think with zab hes just trying to piss zab off to get isnide his head so when they do fight zab will try to take his head off cause hes so emotional, and mayweather can use that to his advantage, and it might be to where zab will say "fuck it ill fight him for free or fight him at less than 50-50" so that way the fight will happen and floyd can get the money he wants.
with hatton come one people hatton i a fucking pussy, all you need to look at is the fact that he wouldnt even come here to fight the guy who was recognized as the champ (tszyu). he had to have even that fight at his own home. hes also had 39 fights and one good win. hes got more ights than judah and floyd and he has one win to show for it when zab has 9 good wins and floyd has 11 with less fights. hattons people called out maussa right after the harris fight, anyone who considers fighting maussa as a good fight is a joke and deserves to be killed. this guy doesnt even matter harris just needs to get right and take the belt back from him so he can get these fights.
I heard Hatton turned him down then, which i can understand, at that stage Mayweather was considered a boring fighter who couldnt sell tickets or get PPV, he didnt have a belt(at 140) either. There no way Hatton would risk fighting someone as good as Mayweather for no money or no title, even if he murdered him people would just say Mayweather was too small for 140.
You do realise we are in August, theres just over 3months to make the fight and for the fighters to go to camp. There no way the fight could happen in 2005, its just smart to fight in 2006, thats all Hatton camp are saying. Mayweathers camp just suggested a dumb timescale for the fight.
The important thing now is, Hatton is the champ and Mayweather has more a lot respect then when he first moved to 140, they could easily sit down and work out a deal.No man it wasnt like no timetable crap. They actually said they wanted a few fights or 2 in between and they would not fight him in his next fight. They even said mid to late 2006
So when was this?... Floyd was last fighting at 135lbs back in 2003'.
What angle do you think the Mayweather camp were looking at it from?
1. This young Hatton guy is shit hot, and he's gonna become the World champ - Let's get him out of the way as quick as possible whilst he's still a bit green.
2. Perhaps the Mayweather camp just didn't know what they were dealing with back then?.. And were lucky they didn't make that Mayweathers 1st fight at 140lbs?
3. The Mayweather camp were just making an empty offer to see if this Hatton kid was serious or not?
Its a lot of everything, they were just pressing buttons to see what happens i think.
I dont know what these people are thinking but in my mind you build fights up to be huge showdowns. Like when everyone was saying Hatton should fight Cotto, back then i would have been a fight with little money in it, but now it a real good match up with two world champions. Mayweather business tactics seem pretty dumb, he knows how to play fighters by bad mouthing, but not the puplic, he just speak shit to get short term fans and doesnt help build up the fights, he'll never make as much money as he should be doing.
I dunno man... I'm a pretty big Hatton fan, I've seen his last 20-25 fights LIVE on the tv, (I also saw him LIVE once and I met him at another fight night when he wasn't fighting). I follow his career closely.
I've never heard of this offer made to Hatton.
I'm not saying you're wrong... I just don't remember this offer ever being made, (And I've been reading the Hatton forums for years!).
It just sounds more like Mayweather talk to me.
I heard about it, but like i said in a previous post, Mayweather was stinking out fights at that stage, he was on TV in the UK a few times before the offer and people didnt want to know. I remember when he fought Sosa, even real fight fans were changing the channel because he was stinking the fight out against an average opponent.
So he had no belt for Hatton, even if Hatton won he'd be beating a naturally smaller opponent and there was no serious money involved. A clever camp like Hattons wont put it all on the line for nothing, that would be daft.
So your trying to tell me that you guys have never heard Hatton's people say that they dont want the fight now? because I have read many articles when they have said that
They say they dont want the fight on Mayweathers terms and want it in 2006.
People go on about the problems PBF is going to have with Margarito based on the Castillo fight - but Mayweather fought a much better fight in tbe rematch and seemed to learn how to deal more easily with Castillo's educated pressure. For me Floyd is a class above Margarito - but it would still be a better fight than a Mitchell one.

You people fall for it everytime.
It's not like he says in the post fight interview that this fighter was easy.
He always points out the good things about the fighter after he beats them...it's just talk.
Thats exactly what i think, all he said was Hatton camp turned down his offer. His offer was probably 60-40 at MSG in Decemeber 2005, you know there no way the real champ and PPV seller Hatton is going to agree to his terms.
In general Mayweather needs to grow up, he goes too far with what he says.
So your trying to tell me that you guys have never heard Hatton's people say that they dont want the fight now? because I have read many articles when they have said that
I dunno from that chat... Mayweather and his trash talk is a little bit like the boy who cried wolf. - What I mean is, I don't believe half the shit he says.
I saw Hatton and Billy Graham on tv and they both said that they really really want the Mayweather fight next... And they know how to beat Mayweather - (with educated pressure).
And I heard Hatton on the radio a few weeks back and he was saying that he really really wants the Mayweather fight. I actually heard this come from their mouths not some dodgey boxing website on the internet making up stuff.
I think what's more likely is that Floyds says to Sports Network, "Yeah I'll fight Hatton for a 60/40 split", Sports Networks obviously say "**** OFF!"... And then Floyd jumps around telling everyone that Hatton's ducking him?
I mean... There's trash talk, but the part where Floyd says - "These guys at 140 just don't want to fight me man! He came to me personally and told me he never wanted to make the fight!"
When I was a kid at school, I used to have a friend who talked so much shit... And he'd say stuff like, "Oh yeah! It's true, and they all said that I was the best! And they said I was amzing and that's how I won! And the manager of Manchester UTD came up to me and said would I like to play for his team! But I said no!!!" - I'm sure you all had your own kid at school who talked loads of bullshit like this.
Bit like last time I read a Floyd Mayweather interview he was saying, "Oh yes, oh I never watched the Tszyu vs Hatton fight, really! I was having some fun in my swimming pool instead, Honestlt!" - Yeah OK Floyd. :D
The whole interview come across to me like that.
Did any of you guys find that?

I think PBF is full of shit!!! He is the best P4P fighter but I dont hink he's much of a Ppv draw!!! the only reason his 1st and only ppv did so good is because of arturo gatti, and I also think he's trying to avoid margarito, margarito is another version of castillo theirs style are pretty similar, margarito is a little bigger and stronger to.
I think Castillo's a superior fighter to Margarito but i can see what you mean, what Margarito lacks in ability he makes up for in size and strength.

Yeah, he needs people to think that about him, I'll agree, it's weird. He seems at least more grounded than Tyson, who would talk the same way but not work to back it up, and would fold in the ring as soon as anyone exposed him in the slightest. Floyd does everything right when it comes to boxing at least, it bugs me more to see a guy waste his talent.
Very true, i really respect Mayweather as fighter.
He talks like he's super human and he want people to think he's super human, thats more than just ticket sales, he has a massive ego. only the fact he trains really hard makes me think he's on this planet.

A lot of it is an act, though. I mean, I know he's not exactly a saint or anything but one in a while, like after the Gatti fight, the walls come down and all this smack talk goes out the window. I don't know why he does it all the time, though I think it's more than just because he's trash-talking, or whatever. What I mean is that I think he has some genuine hang-ups about what, I don't know. I'm no psychiatrist. But I don't think he really thinks he's super-human. His rigorous training before each fight attests to that.

I cant help but think Mayweather is over estimating his own ability, he even called Kostya Tszyu "easy work". I know he's a good fighter but i think he believe's he's super human.
Even if i was super human i'd be embarrassed to say shit like he does.
