Valuev-Donald in eliminator!
Unbeaten 7'1, 325+ lb. heavyweight Nicolay Valuev and Larry Donald will collide on October 1 in a WBA eliminator to determine the mandatory challenger for WBA titlist John Ruiz. The bout will tale place at the Weser-Ems-Halle in Oldenburg, Germany. The WBA #2 rated Valuev (#1 is vacant) is 41-0 with 31 KOs. Donald (42-3-3, 24 KOs) is rated WBA #8. Donald got the spot in the eliminator because the WBA's #3-#7 ranked heavyweights were unavailable.
I don't know but in my opinion neither of these guys deserves to be the number one contendor as of yet. There are others who would be more suited for this fight off and this slot. However since the heavyweight has no real qaulity talent I guess they are as fitting as anyone.
John Ruiz vs. Larry Donald = worst heavyweight title fight in recent memory
Don't worry, that ain't gonna happen. Valuev is gonna hand Donald his ass, then he's gonna hand Ruiz HIS ass. Simple as that.
Fighters get hit in back of the head every time they fight. In the U.S., U.K., Germany and any where else. It happens. I have seen people get KO'd by an illegal shot to the back of the head.
In addition to my earlier post, take a look at Tyson's first 40 fights. Really not that impressive. Take a look at who he fought until he won his belt. Not that impressive. Valuev has fought twice the amount of boxers.

Valuev should have been DQ'd against Etienne and, before, against Nobles.
We don't KO people to the back of their head in America. ...
Was not Messi KD by Jirov on the back of his head (unintentionally, I think)?
I uploaded that Dominguez fight for you awhile back, remember?. That guy was a cruiserweight like I was a few months back...(smilie)
Yes, I remember. I said Dominguez was short but he surely could box, which one would expect from a a former WBC cruiser champ. Still Valuev won.
One thing is for sure, we all will find out what he is made of. If he loses to any of these fighters I will deny ever saying anything good about him.
Just kidding. :D
Vauev and Peter will mop up a weak HW division. Peter has the good KO power we seem to be lacking in HW's right now. Vauev isn't just knocking people out, he is making them quit by the 5th round. He is hurting people. How many fights do you have to have to be considered a contender. How many KO's? Tyson didn't fight half the people Valuev has fought. And don't tell me his opponants were better because he fought alot of washed up fighters and fighters that weren't all that anyway. Don't get me wrong, Tyson was one of my favorites. He has stepped up with each and every fight. He is also limited to the fighters he can fight, nobody wants to go to Germany and fight him. Those who do get beat. Bring on Donald and then bring on Ruiz, and when its all over, I will be the first one to go "I told you so". You got to start some where, some time. So why not now.
Valuav could fight 57 more bums and be 100-0; doesn't mean he's more than a prospect...

Ruiz and Donald both typify the stale state of the heavyweight division. Valuev may or may not represent a good heavyweight, but at least he is a fresh proposition who has the chance to be a part of some interesting matchups.
issue here is why is this fight even happening? Valuev is untested and his test definitely will not come against Larry "I wish I was a legend" Donald. Larry Donald can't even last five rounds in shadow boxing.
Don't underestimate Ruiz ability against Valuev. I am no Ruiz fan but Ruiz seems to have a leprechaun in his pocket or something. No matter how many times he looses the belt he gets it back and secondly, he wins fights with is boring punch and hold style. You never know, this style could frustrate and irritate Valuev like it has so many other fighters. Besides that again Valuev is completely untested and very very prone to get disqaulified if he ever fights in the states due to the fouling that he does (Whether its accidental or intentional it doesnt matter) Trust if he fights Ruiz, Ruiz is definitely not going to go overseas, and in the states those fouls could cause him to loose.
Either Klit Brother TKO Valuev in an ugly barbaric match-up
Yep, and that's exactly why I want to see it. Can you see Wladimir with his fast ass hands teeing off on Valuev's face and body? LOL

We don't KO people to the back of their head in America. Valuev would have had an 'L' had those fights been held here...
That's also a possible predicted outcome for the fight vs. Ruiz - he got Kirk Johnson to DQ himself, too...
Valuev doesn't deserve a title shot. Even if he beats Larry Donald, who scored an impressive draw in his last outing, and before that, outboxed a brain-damaged Holyfield...
Boxers get hit in the back of the head all the time and I've seen ref's look the other way and that's right here in the USA. Fact is Valuev is 7' tall and people try to get small on him and he has to punch down, sometimes shit happens, and the ref's know this, so they let it go if they deem it unintentional.
That guy was garbage, but untill someone comes along and beats Valuev, he's undefeated, and the highest ranking fighter for Ruiz's belt.

I bet you had high hopes for Gheorghe Muresan in the NBA too...

1. Yes, but he KDed him twice, and the rabit punch that casued second KD was not intentional (Etiene was turning his head)
2. Levin's loss to Williams was due to a cut caused by an (what I think was) intentional headbutt, and they went on par otherwise...

Valuev will never catch a break from some of these boxing fans. When he beats Donald, everyone is going to say, oh he beat Donald who cares, he still sucks. When Valuev beats Ruiz everyone is going to say, oh it's just Ruiz. Some fight fans have a brick wall in their mind that will never broken no matter who Valuev fights. But I say this now, Valuev will clean out the HW division, he is the best kept secret right now in the division.
I bet you had high hopes for Gheorghe Muresan in the NBA too...
1. Wasn't Domingues a WBC cruiser champ? He was short, but he surely could box.
2. Valuev also outboxed Vidoz who was an Olympic silver medalist.
