I think he'd make a very good trainer, he's a very smart guy and he also has a wealth of experience and knows the ring well.
This guy spent six years in the 80's sparring with all the best fighters around the gyms of New York, fought in many Golden Gloves tournaments, fought in many exhibition bouts, and on top of that had 50-something professional fights (24 of which world championship bouts). Like Manny Steward, Eubank unbelievably won Golden Gloves with NO trainer! Maybe he has a special gift?
Eubank is too much of an attention whore to be a trainer.
He needs to be the main man at all times.
He would probably come into the ring in between rounds and instead of giving his fighter tips, he'll start striking poses.
Of course he needed trainers to fight properly. They would have had some sort of input into the success of his career. Not even the god tyson can go without trainers. And we all know what happens when fighters change who trains them dont we. They go down the fucking drain. Just like Naseem Hamed for example.
Btw Naz did fight Peter Buckley. Twice in fact. Do you remember a while back when you said that he never fought him and i said he KTFO of him?
Eubank probably didn't need trainers, I believe he had instinct.
Hamed never KTFO Buckley, the first fight was a boring fight that went the distance and the second one was a premature stoppage when Buckley had a fit afterwards because he wanted to carry on and was perfectly fine.
Eubank's worked with some pretty unknown trainers though, Patrick Ford/Maximo Pierret trained him at Gleason's Gym whoever they are, Ronnie Davies trained from 1990-1995 and to be honest I don't know anybody else he's trained. Dennis Andries (who else has he trained?) and Maximo Pierret trained Eubank at the end of his career. But I reckon the Eubster didn't need trainers, I reckon he had instinct himself.

Nah, Teddy Atlas is a good announcer, but as a trainer, he is horrible. His style only works with certain fighters. If you call that a style. The tough guy, talking your head off, belittleing style is good for some fighters, I guess.
And I don't really know much about Teddy's boxing credentials. A lot of people say that there is no record of Teddy acutally fighting, let alone winning the golden gloves.
But anyway. The best fighter/now trainer is Freddy Roach. Eddie Futch trained him when he was a fighter (Freddy was acutally pretty good). And now you could see all the great fighters he trains. His style is great. I wish he could train me one day.Teddy trained Michael Moore, who I thought was a good fighter until he lost his belt to Foreman, after that he quit. Didn't he help train the early Tyson?
I agree. Buddy Magert (however you spell his last name) makes a good trainer. Teddy Atlas was a good trainer. I wish Teddy would train more fighters.

i really think more ex-fighters should turn to training. it's only natural. boxing will only benefit from it.I agree. Buddy Magert (however you spell his last name) makes a good trainer. Teddy Atlas was a good trainer. I wish Teddy would train more fighters.
