How good is Hatton.

Anyone remember seeing Ali and Frazier? Hatton/Mayweather, Jr. is going to be alot like that fight. Ali had the boxing "skills", whereas Frazier was the fighter putting constant pressure on his opponent. The only big difference is that Hatton doesn't have the same pound-for-pound knockout power that Frazier had. I don't care for Hatton, nor his style after seeing him fight 7 or 8 times. I don't care for Mayweather's mouth, however watching him fight is like watching an artist paint a masterpiece. It's one helluva matchup of styles, however Floyd's speed and footwork is too good. I think he's going to win a pretty brutal UD, and isn't going to be pretty afterwards.

I never saw anybody with such natural talent as Ricky Hatton, I watched him in the amateurs and he was second to none as far as natural talent goes, it will take something very special to beat him.

He is average with above average heart and will , but that will not win all your fights as Gatti has proven he will be exploited by a really good boxer like PBF or I believe even in a rematch with Tzsyu.

Floyd is in a whole different league. Hatton is real good..but..i cant see him beating PBF. He's too quick..too accurate and his defense is great. Hatton's only chance would be to rough him up and make it a "dirty" fight.

If there is going to be a fight, I would definatly pay for PPV. This would be a fight I would not miss.

But he's not gonna like the flavour of fist pbf gives him.......and he's gonna be force fed it! Hatton is gonne eat fist when/if he fights PBF! Thats what normally happens in a fight, but i think Hatton will be feeding Mayweather more fist than he recieves.

You guys could be right. I would like to see it happen. What about Hatton's camp turning down PBF for a fight? I havn't heard that but somebody posted it in a earlier post. I have, but remember the guy who posted it before is an idiot so he will exagerate. Mayweather said Hattons camp wants another year before they fight him, its 2005 now and it will soon be 2006(which is another year), its just Mayweather twisting their words again to make it sound like Hatton wants a full year. Hattons camp know they couldnt make a fight that big before the end of 2005, especially when Hatton likes a really long training camp. All i know is Hatton has said he wants the fight ASAP so i believe him, he's a no bullshit fighter and doesnt lie about things like this.

hatton seems to be a decent fighter, but it would take more to confirm this than a win over tszyu on his off night in hatton's hometown with a hometown ref. and it was still really close up until the corner stopped it. The ref did an excellent job, and there is no doubt that Hatton won, when a TKO or KO was involved. Hatton beats Floyd Mayweather, Floyd is way too used to people boxing him, what is he gonna do when hes under the same pressure that Tszyu was? Cornered and no where to go? Hatton would ultimately beat Floyd as the fight progresses watch and see if this fight happens.

You see that's what makes it such an interesting fight!... Coz' I'd put all my money on Hatton. Kostya Tszyu is an extremely intelligent fighter, and despite all his best layed plans... By the 6th Round Hatton had forced him to fight Hatton's fight. Kostya Tszyu is a lot stronger than Mayweather at 140lbs. I see the fight only going one way... I guess we'll just see what happens when the guys meet... But one thing I would say is, "don't underestimate Hatton". This isn't just coming from a Hatton fan... It's coming from a boxing fan. Thats why i love the match up, who knows what will happen!! Mayweather is the best at what he does and Hatton is the best at what he does, both very different fighters but that just makes for a great styles match. I think Hatton will force his will on Mayweather, i really like Mayweather but but i know he allows fighters to back him up, he allows them to pressure him and lays on the ropes too long. A lot of people forget that, after the Gatti shut out people forget how successful Castillo was, and no offence to him because he's is a excellent fighter but he isnt half as good as Hatton at closing the distance and putting pressure on. Castillo's a lot more effective when the opponent doesnt move that much.

I actually think Hatton will beat Mayweather... Mayweather is an awesome fighter who is the definition of the the "sweet science" and I love that! However... Floyd maybe too quick with his hands for Hatton, But Hatton is probably the best fighter in the World at closing the distance and making the other fighter fight HIS fight. Hatton's fight... Mayweather loses because Hatton's too strong for him. I've seen it 39 times before... The other fighter says that they'll do this, or that they'll do that to Hatton... It always ends up the same way. Hatton fights Hatton's fight and anyone wants to beat him, they're gonna need to beat him at his own game. Mayweather is not strong enough to do that.PBF is samrt. He wouldn't fight Hatton's fight. But I think your right, if PBF fought Hatton's fight it might be a different outcome. But if they fought I would put my money on PBF.

Hatton gets to fight in his hometown because he sell more tickets than his opponents. That's capitalism. That's the American Way.

I like Hatton and I like PBF, but I don't think Hatton can handle PBF. PBF is way too fast for him and I think boxing wise his skills are superior. To me, there is nobody that can touch PBF at that weight. PBF will win on speed and skill. Right now I wish there would be a fight between Zab Judah and Ricky Hatton.

To all of you that think Tszyu would win had it been 6-7 years later are simply wrong. According to him he was at his prime, hitting the hardest he ever did in his life and all that, its well documented what he said before the fight. I think the only reason people hate Hatton is because he is British. Hatton is a good fighter with a good heart and a impreesive style. Hatton has 1 objective in the ring, and that is to whip your ass. He is a good fighter. The Brits have put out a few good fighters, and probably 1 of the best HW's we will see for a while. There is a couple of HW's up and coming that are going to be good. None of them will be as good as Lennox Lewis.
