Andre Durrell and Andre Ward have had their respective fights.
Durrell is fast, but I am not a fan of his rawness. But I think he will clean up.
Andre Ward continues to impress and improve. He is not as wild as he was his first and second pro fight. He is more patient and picking the correct shots. His jab is looking awesome already.
Audley Harrison is next.
I like Ward. He's really good and I think he'll become champ in the next years.. if he'll rule the boxing world as a Pound 4 Pound king is another question. I hope that he'll really fight on the Jones/Tarver III Undercard (as the biggest Roy fan in Germany.. I ordered tickets today, I hope I'll meet some of you ;) ).
Direll looks to have all the tools, but he better correct some bad habits NOW rather than later.
He has reach combined with deadly speed and decent power. But he gets Waaaay to comfortable in there I think. He needs to either stay on the offensive and keep his opponent backing up, or GET HIS DAMN HANDS UP. He came very close to catching some serious leather in there, and I think he might have been stunned by Camacho towards the end there.
Damn, that kid has all the right stuff though. Just needs to refine it and he will be a force in no time.
Woah! Chris Holt is fighting Andre Ward? I know that dude! He came into the place where I train in Brooklyn Park, MN and was sparring MMA with one of my friends. My friend took him to the ground and tapped him out in like...I dunno 20 seconds or so and he got up trying to fight him for real cause he was embarassed I guess lol! He's lucky it got broken up cause there was about 10 of us ready to beat his ass!
He's the Minnesota middleweight champ. Ward will wipe the mat with this dude, cause from what I've seen of him, he aint that good at all.
EDIT- Wait that's not the dude I was thinking of. I think it was the guy who Holt fought last. That guy isnt him though for sure. I just remember the name for some reason.
I think Ward's the only future star out of the first three Olympians they showed...
I agree he will be the biggest star of the three. I wouldn't sell Dirrell short at this point though. He has the tools if he can get his mind right. More maturity and discipline will go a long way.
Harrison drops Wiggens hard in the 4th then throw a million missed punches...then gets him on the ropes and just unloads as Wiggens is saved by the bell...
WTF? the ref is stopping the fight...the crowd is booing like crazy...
Wiggens wobbled Harrison a bit in the 3rd, but Harris picked it up...now the crowd chanting for Wiggens in this 4th round as Harrison just pawing and holding out the jab the whole time
man, one would think Audley would be one of the premiere HWs...86' reach..daymn...on top of his 6'5, 250lb frame and the fact that he is a smart boxer...
I agree with Toney, eventually he is going to need to start imposing himself on his opponents...get them out there early...he is known to just coast for a man his size
