Antonio Tarver has confirmed his greatness throughout his years, and doesn't get the recongnition he deserves.. It is sickening how most people don't put Tarver in the top 50 light heavyweights of all time.
What is wrong with you guys? Where are the Tarver threads in this forum? Antonio Tarver deserves your upmost respect and he aint getting it....
YOU ALL SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!!!!!
do u think there is any way jones can ko tarver??
if they both come in at peak shape, who do you think wins?
I think Roy Jones wins if they both come in ready to fight. Can Jones KO Tarver? Anything possible in boxing but I highly doubt it. I think A decision is more likely to happen...

In the grand scheme of things Antonio Tarver will go down in history as the "Tony Womack of the light heavyweight division"
How do I feel? Actually I am not going to make a final prediction just yet. I want to wait and see whats going on in both Roy's camp and Tarver's camp. Its also hard for me to see this fight from unbiased eyes because you and everyone else knows who I want to win. :D Right now I am thinking Jones will win a decision.(thats not my final prediction)I just can't imagine Roy not being prepared for possibly the last fight of his career. Plus the fight is in Florida, I don't think Roy wants to get KOed in his home state. Then I look at the fact Tarver is coming off two average performances against Johnson. So I am thinking Roy right now...

imo, tarver has the potential and ability to be great, but he hasnt done enough to prove himself yet
oh, and truth, how do u feel about jones tarver III?

If Jones is really missing these press confs because he doesn't want to break training camp and working this hard for the fight, we might see Tar get KTFO.

Just ask world class trainer Buddy McGrit about Antonio Tarvers greatness... JUST ASK!!!!!!
Buddy McGirt also said that Arturo Gatti was going to have an easy time beating Floyd Mayweather.
he's not great...
he beat 1 aged great and 1 aged champ.
he's gonna have to add big names to his resume
to be great. but where are the big names.... in the light heavys?
if he's gonna beat roy again, maybe lacy or calzaghe should step and fight him next.
hmm
This is a funny thread, a joke, right?
1) Tarver being a top 50 lhw of all time? Is that supposed to be good? That's a lot of fuckin' fighters. :p
2) Tarver beat 3 top 5 lightheavyweights of his era...Harding, Jones, and Johnson. However, yes, it would have looked better if he had not lost to them all the first go-round.
3) When Tarver did beat Roy and Johnson, they were past their primes.
4) If Roy beats Tarver in the rubbermatch, Tarver will be a footnote on the pages of boxing history. It would look bad for him to lose to a 36 yr old man who went through what Roy has went through, mainly because Tarver already STOPPED him once (not sure I'd call it a KO, Roy did get up after all, Nady stopped the fight, semantics anyway but who cares).
Tarver overall is a good fighter. A good fighter is enough to beat a faded great fighter.
hes 23-3... only fought 26 fights, and yeah hes avenged all his losses, but it would be better if he didn't lose them PERIOD.
dpenens on when he retires
nah, he beat other quality contenders like johnson as well, and his first fight against rjj was extremly close and disputed as well.
hes more than a buster douglass
Yeah your right now that I think about it further. But he isn't great...just a good fighter.
Tarver isn't great, he has had one great moment in his career. Buster Douglass also had one great moment. That should explain it pretty well...:D

well, who has tarver beaten: jones, johnson (lost to both of them too), and.... some1 help me out here...
the fact that he lost to them is irrelevant.
he lost a extremly close fight with roy, then knocked him out.
lost another close sd, then got his revenge in pretty convinving fashion.
like i said before, he lost two VERY close and controversial fights, and then came back and got the better of both of those guys.
i believe he is on his way to greatness
Greatness? I dont see it. A split between a great fighter twoards the end of his career, doesn't equal greatness. Plus I think Roy can win the rubber match with clean effective counter punching.
