As some of you know, I live in Pensacola, Florida. My uncle, referee Tommy Kimmons, has been in boxing for a few decades. He compiled an amateur record of 350 some-odd wins and only 9 losses. Reffed Casamayor, Robin Reid, Brathwaite, Ouma, Lacy undercard, a Hatton fight, and so on. Anywho, he's "in the know" I guess you would say about what goes on in Roy's camp. He knows all the boxing ppl in this town and so he knows little trinkets that might be interesting to some ppl, or maybe not. But anywho, he confirmed to me that Roy is bringing his dad back into his camp to help him get ready for Tarver.
I told my uncle that I hope Roy is training for this fight and he assured me that Roy is with seriousness. I also asked him what does he really think Roy's chances are of winning this fight. He said "better than 50". So, anyway, some good news for the Roy fans out there. If I learn anything else I'll post it.
He also mentioned that he was scratched at the last minute from reffing Reid-Lacy, and said it was a mistake because the ref who did it is a nice guy but did a horrible job (which yes, he did). He's supposed to ref on the Tarver-Jones III card, maybe he'll get lucky and land the main event.
hmm
If your uncle is from Pensacola as well and knows some people in Roys camp well it is VERY unlikely that he will referee the bout, dont you think so?
That probably wouldn't be a factor. My uncle is really respected as a ref and is one of few American refs who has reffed some big fights overseas. If it is a factor though it would be cuz of Tarver not liking the idea. However, it's not like my uncle has a Roy flag out his ass, it's just that since he's in the world of pro boxing and happens to live in Pcola that ppl inform him of things. A lot of ppl know ppl in Roy's camp. Like I said, not very big town. Not small, but not big enough to keep boxing ppl from being in the know about what is going down with Roy.
Roys gonna suck a big cock, don't get your hopes up Super Lightweight, he's gonna choke like the little bitch that he is.
Get out here with that, Roy fans keep your faith!! :D
ha ha ha ha ha. Hey exig is that the clown Nas or Mickey Mouse. ha ha
Ok if this is SliqueJab/ SliqueHook then talk to the left cos you aint right.
And if this is anyone else then explain what the fuck you mean cos im baffled by this???
I think theres a good chance that Roy could win.
Tarver is lazy by nature, so it would be very like him to basically piss away this fight. I could easily see Roy squeaking one out, shocking enough.

Anyway thx for the information. But I fear your uncle might be wrong about the prediction. Roy should have stayed retired. For a man who mainly relied on his speed and reflexes he's getting too old. It shows some class that he wants the fight with Tarver but I don't think he'll stand much of a chance.
You assumed incorrectly he meant fighting record, when clearly we are talking about an officiating record. Just got confused. They don't show amateur records on boxrec anyway.
I know but when you say your uncle had a 300 blah blah record, and then somebody says "here is the record" what record did u think i was thinking about?
and i know amateurs arent shown in BoxRec. Hence the reason i said what i said.
hmm
By record most people when, fighting record. This is what he meant i assume.
Therefore that is not his record. The link shows what fights he was the referee in (i noticed that originally) but thats not a record. As in 300-9-0.

Actually it is. Pay attention. Notice for all those fights it says "referee: Tommy Kimmons".
See it now?

Didn't you used to be the greatest? I don't remember you being such a dick. Oh well. Guess I just woke up and smelt the coffee, huh? :boxing:
hmm
Will Roy actually listen to his dad. I mean throughout Roy's career he had that kind of I know what I'm doing mentality when his corner would give him directions.
Roy only asks his dad for help if he will listen. Roy wants to do all he can to win. He had did dad come in for Ruiz as well and that was total ownage. Different fight here, but this is encouraging to me that he brought his dad in. I'm an amateur fighter and when Roy Sr.'s guys fight at amateur events I have been to, they rarely lose. Dude just knows styles. Smart guy, looks like a complete slob though.

Theirs his Uncle's record.
It would be nice to see someone I atleast know of's relative on that fight...lol.
I think Tarver will get him, how old is Jones anyway?
