I met Johnny Ruiz at my 3rd Amateur fight after I knocked this kid out with a nasty body shot in the second. I shook his hand and he said, "kid do they call you Rocky? You gotta learn to move your head, having a great chin and power is excellent to have but you need to stop getting hit because one of these days you will find someone who may put you down. But I guess all that matters is you won". All I could say was yup and then I walked away. Not too interesting but cool non the less.

Eastman was sparring at Empire (Sanigar's) once, and with me being a Middle I sparred him. Catley and Francis trained alongside me for years. I went to Neville's gym in 1997 or 1998 with a mate from Rotherham I met from kickboxing, and Ryan Rhodes was there.
The name doesn't ring a bell dude, I was at Neville's gym like eight or nine years ago. He was sparring Ryan Rhodes a lot, they were eachothers main sparring partners.
juyjuy, i spar with a guy who trains at neville browns gym in burton, his name is mark sherry, he's only had a handful of amateur fights but he's sparred with alot of good fighters including brown, shaun cummins and johnjo finighan, do you know him? he's a great bloke and is teaching me alot.
juy juy
Im interested to know how you got spar these guys form so many different gyms, Catley and Francis are bristol (saniger) lads, Eastman london based, Rhodes - sheffield
thats a lot of travelling. were you hired or just there for an amateur tournament or something?

Yeah Couchy was a Jones nut-hugger because she had her photo taken with him, she fought on the Jones-Griffin II undercard and afterwards she met Jones and all that shit. The photo was up at the Empire, Jones had a baseball cap on backwards and a bottle of energy drink in his hand with a cheeky little smile. I agree with most of what Couchy was saying there apart from the Jones bit, she only nut-hugged Jones because she met him.
NICE one its amazing how affable the fighters can be out of the ring id approached right.
not on the same level but i met Wayne Alexander (top light middle in brtiain) in apub not so long ago, left him about 2 hrs later after laughing heartily for those hours..

I met Giardello & LaMotta on the same night.
Giardello's kid had a few pro fights (he wasn't really good), & I went to his debut. LaMotta was there to support the Giardellos.
I was 13 years old....& I got Jake to sign the back of my ticket stub. Damn cool.
I met Barkley across the street from MSG this past October (for Trinidad-Mayorga). I was there with another of this forum's posters, LuKhanLi. We stood & talked to Iran for a good half-hour He had a lot of LNICE things to say about Bob Arum...he-he.
I met most of the Philadelphia fighters at various gyms, fight cards, etc. I met David Reid when he had a public workout for his fight with Simon Brown.
