What if Erik Morales fought Pacquiao before JMM?

Unfortunately, if Morales fought Pac instead of Marquez that March 2004 date, Pacman woulda gotten beat. Pac may have gotten KD and even KOed.

I l;ke morales I have been a fan of his! but something about PACMAN brings fans to the table! his presence and style and his trademark shorts make him standout plus he is very humble. I followed morales, and barrera, but what dissappointed me is naseem retiring after his first and only loss, and then pacman coming into the scene a year later to take the scene by storm! That was a dream fight that would never happen NASEEM vs PACMAN imagine that! the most exciting featherweights of our generation going at it. Barrera really made prince look like a fool. Sad but I miss the cocky brit.

I think once pacquaio beat barrera then morales already had started to study pacman..Of course morales would want to beat someone that barrera couldn't so I am positive that morales still would have won..only way morales loses is if he had faught pac without watching the barrera fight.and if he was overconfiden I agree. Morales has the power, skills and the chin (also determination) to beat Pac regardless of Marquez fighting him first. The fact that Barerra was beat so badly by Pac just made him all the more determined!

Erik Morales didnt fight like JMM, u look at that fight Erik fought like Erik. It would have been close to the same if not the exact same results. And i called it too, that Pacquiao would go full retreat and the difference would be that Erik would chase him all the way and he did many times and pounded him against the ropes.

Pacman will KO Morales in ta rematch I KNOOOOOOOW IT! I have yet to reveal ta REAL reasons why Pac lost the fight to Morales. I shall show all of you when the time is right. pacquaio looked three times shaper because barrera didn't bring his A game. morales and marquez made him look less sharp by out boxing pac. Um he really didnt beat up pacman that badly you make it sound like it was ARturo gatti vs floyd mayweather now that was a schooling! Pacman could have easily took the decision if he just threw more punches like he did against barrera. it was 115-113 decision 2 point difference. Pacman seemed to be worrying more about his cut on his eye then throwing punches pacman clearly can hurt morales tot he body he could have finished him in the first 3 rounds after the first round he hit morales to the body that morales couldnt even sit on his chair, I agree if manny had skills he would have saw that erik was weak in the body and kept unleashing an already effective body attack but he didnt.

I believe pacman would have won! Jmm had the blueprint to beat pacman and erik morales claimed to have watched that tape 10 times before fighting pacquiao. It would have been a better fight if pacman fought morales instead of a barrera morales 3. personaly i dont think marquezs fight payed that much of a role in how erik fought him ofcourse it did but if u watch eriks recent fights hed been changin from a com forward agressor into this countering mixed with aggressive comin forward since he moved to 130 so to me it would have been the same

I just watched Barrera vs Pacquaio for the first time. I noticed that in the Barrera fight Pacquaio seemed like 3x sharper than he was against Morales. If Pacquaio fought the same way he did against Barrera against Morales he would have won because he beat the living f**K out of Barrera. Maybe all those Phillipino bigshots being at that fight and everything kind of iced him. Or Pacquaio has lost some hunger since beating Barrera. I heard pacman is becoming soft in the ring freddie roach tells him to not treat fighters in the ring like they are friends! that i can agree with to a degree. he could have watched any of his recent fights and still gained the knowledge he needed. i mean why would he seriously have watched the jmm fight so much if all of pac-mans excuses for not winning were true? i mean seriously....if the reason that mannie didn't dominate the whole fight because of socks and hand wrist problems wouldn't that make it pointless to watch the pac-jmm fight? and wouldn't it make watching it useless? perhaps the excuses were true and legit. maybe they weren't. believe what yuo want. but if you believe in the blisters and sore wrist or hands whatever from jmm then morales watching that fight is null and void. if you believe that the excuses were shit then it looks like jmm did a great job of recovering from 3 first round kds and basically controlled the rest of the fight. perhaps it did help erik if this is the case. I think pacman lost alot of aggresion! when he fought agapito he was ferocious he got cut bigger then he did when he fought morales! and he didnt stop. But during this fight pacman looked like he just woke up an hour ago when he entered the staduim. I know pacman is alot like kostya tszyu they have that killer straight punch but no uppercuts.

I just have a feeling The fight would have been different! morales has never been known for avoiding punches haha we all know that he doesnt have the defense of JMM! he actually imitated jmm's style by pressuring the aggressor and make them fight backing up. actually that has always been morales style. morales has always been a banger. he is always an aggressive fighter. and morales does have some defense. not the best but he does have some. otherwise he wouldn't be where he is. morales can take a punch to be for sure...but he doesn't always have to. the fact is the best man won that fight. fair and square. would it have happened the same way if the fight was before jmm? who knows. the destroyer imo has always had weaknesses. he doesn't really have boxing skills. and it was only a matter of time before someone exposed that. don't get me wrong people....i do like manny.....i love watching his fights. whats not to like about the guy? he brings tons of excitement. i hope his career continues on and he wins lots of fights. heck i think it would be cool if he beat morales in the rematch and setup "wwIII" (did i really just say that?) he as a great camera personality too. what the hell did he say? j/k

I hope barrera gets a shot for redemption against Pacquiao! HAHAHHAHAAH you hope? barrera can have pacman anyday he has been avoiding it for some odd reason! he doesnt want to fight pacman again he was offered to fight him but he chose not to on many occasions.

Pacquiao fought the EXACT same way as he did against JMM My point exactly. Pac fights one style, his. It's got him to where he is and he's not going to abandon it. In training, he might be working on something new, but in the ring he'll always do what comes naturally ... throw that left hand straight down the pipe over and over again.
