Just read this article, couldnt have happened to a better man in life and the sport of boxing.
I will be there opening night!
I'm not gonna hold shit against Ward just because more recognizable names aren't getting their own movie. I like tales about blue-collar people and boxing movies in general. I'd definitely watch it.
hahah with a screenwrite made by the guy who wrote airbud
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
i'll still watch the movie but this did make me cringe a bit when i read it.
If they want to make a movie about somebody...
it should be none other then....
John Ruiz!!!!!
#1. He is the least skilled heavyweight ever to win a heavyweight title TWICE!!!
#2. He got knocked out by Tua in the 1st round and managed to become heavyweight champion of the world TWICE!!
#3. He fights everyone
#4. They can't get rid of him..
#5. He has a big cocksucker named The Pretender who can be his gay boyfriend in the movie..
i think it is great that we are haivng a movie about him he accomplished alot for someone didnt have many natural skills he
should be an example for the quitting idiots we call boxersw now days.
i still think its funny that the guy from airbud is writting the screen play :D
You dumb shits are missing the point, as usual. Ward had more heart than a lot of fighters in recent memory. Thats why hes getting a movie made about him. Not his record in the ring.
Damn a lot of Ward haters on this forum?? Where is all that hate from?? The guy is a class act, and a down to earth, nice man ( I should know I had the pleasure of meeting him).
But I think the movie is focusing on the other thing Ward and his brother/trainer Dicky Ecklund went through. Ecklund fought first and even went the distance w/ Ray Leonard. But then got into some drug problems.
And Micky who has fought some amazing battles against Green, zab judah, Shea Neary, Emanuel Augustus, and of course Gatti. Micky never made more than 30,000 for a fight until his Gatti fights where he made 2 mill he did this all for his daughter. And after these fights he still goes back and works construction, which he still does to this day.
I think this is a perfect blue collar working class story w/ boxing in the background. If anybody deserves it, its Micky
What has Ward done other than his wars with Gatti...
Ward has never beaten a decent opponent...
He never came in as the underdog and win...this movie is pointles...
They should make a movie about Matthew saad muhammad or somethin
Jack Black is going to play Micky Ward
hahahahahahahhahahaha
wow, absolutly classic
i want to give u karma, but im not sure if you want good karma or bad karma
Screenwriter-producer Paul Tamasy (Air Bud) and Eric Johnson will write the script, according
hahah with a screenwrite made by the guy who wrote airbud
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
ok, well im white, irish, and from mass, and i still think that making a movie about micky ward is over the top.
there are many other, better stories, that dont result in losing 2 out of 3 fights to arturo gatti...holywood can do better than this
hmm
Guess what. Fuck all you guys.
Let me guess....Your a white guy right?
Racist much? Eh, a lil much too much.
Mickey Ward is plenty deserving of a movie or whatever they are doing about him. What a bunch of fuckin haters. Ward was in one of the best fights ever. Period. And won. Of course it makes sense to have a movie about him. Just hatin' on the guy cuz he's white is lame. Pussies.
Micky Ward was a excting and tough fighter but to make a movie after him seems strange.
Yeah. I think it'd be better to call it "The Journeyman," anyway.
