you people are horrible boxing isn't just about going out there and rumbleinng for 12 rounds. sure everybody wants to see a Corrales Castillo type match but damn those guys were beating the hell out of eachother and Floyd beat them without having to break a sweat all i'm saying is these guys are 6'5-6'7 when byrd is 6'1 or 6'2 on a good day this is why Chris Byrd is my second favorite fighter(1st is james toney and i hate you band wagon jumpers that have gotten on toneys dick as of late) Chris Byrd has the best speed and counter punching ability(outside of toney but who else can match counterpunching with him in the game) you can't expect Byrd to come out there and break these big guys down in a matter of 2 rounds sure it would be crowd pleasing but its not gonna happen to me the guy shows a hell of alot of heart thats why i love him and Toney they are short guys who will never backdown i haven't seen either one back down yet and doubt i ever will You wanna see heart look at when Ibeabuchi knocked the hell out of him with that uppercut but Byrd still got up slob hanging an all still didn't wanna quit look at McCline knocking him down he still got up and that Byrd Toney fight is never gonna happen in my eyes Byrd family has been ducking Toney all there life even as teens you guys just respect brawling and thats simple

I havn't watched Williams that much, but what I have seen wasn't all that great. He is probably better now, than when I seen him. Wlad has already beat him once. If Tyson can't beat McBride, he is not going to beat Byrd. Byrd has skills. If he chooses to use them.

Personally i think byrd would get owned by a lot of todays lower ranked h/ws. He's just not big enough for the division really, and doesnt have the pwer or skill to make up for that disadvantage. He's probably the H/W champ i like the most (being that ruiz is a joke and vitali is even more awkward and annoying than byrd), but i would like to see some of the periforal contenders i.e danny williams, wlad klitschko or maybe even tyson fight byrd cos most of them would kill him.

Alot better than the other belt holders in HW division. I don't think he is a all time great by no meaning. All I was saying is that he is better than the other title holders. I agree that he needs to fight more. He needs to unify the belts.

I think Byrd should fight more often. Wich I beleive is Don King doings and not Byrds. Vitali doesn't want to fight him and neither does Ruiz. He made Vitali quit on the stool and Ruiz won't fight anyone who stands a chance of beating him. Byrd beat Mcline in a good showing. He had speed, good feet, accuracy and good heart (for getting back up after getting knocked down in the first by a brutal shot). Right now I think he is the best HW champ. byrd is a pansy who fights once a year. to earn more respect he has to fight more often and fight quality opponents. maybe then he will earn respect and be deserving of the title of a champion hes really not a pansy, but still

He didnt look average in the Mcline fight. He's also getting ripped off by DKP just like evry other fighter that has fought for Don King. Byrd is supposed to make a minimum of 2 million dollars per defence, which Byrd is fighting for less than that each fight. I think highly of the guy, getting as far as he did in this division as small as he is is not an easy task. The heavyweight class today is a easy task, you see people like Chris Byrd winning actual HWs cause its corruptness, You see John Ruiz hugging his way to victory in a hugfest, You see people who are not HWs like Roy Jones beating the hell outta Ruiz when real HWs cant do it, You see Toney on steroids, You see Tyson in fights to be in consideration for a title, You see Brewster looking awful in victories except Golota. I think moving down in divisions is a tougher task for Byrd.

I think all of you have forgoten what he went through just to get to that title. Or have you all just started watching the man fight? Steven, you are the king, truly, but Chris used to win tough fights like Holyfield and Tua but he now is very inactive, greedy with fight contracts and wins horrible decisions, we may be in difference of opinion but he needs to step up with a awesome performance in outstanding fashion cause hes fighting mediocrely, He looks like hes a average fighter in all his fights

Byrd's ring smarts are almost Tyson-like.

I was on the band wagon, then off after Fres Oquendo fight. Now I don't know after the fight with Jameel Mclein. He has alot of skill and he is smart. There is no question about his heart. But is he a good champion? He is very inactive. His lack of power is disapointing. And to me, I think he would have been much better if he would have stayed at LHW.He wins bad decisions too often

Byrd should be ranked #1 heavyweight in the world, but he isn't the best. I think Toney and Vitali are both better than him, maybe Rahman too.

byrd thinks too highly of himself. he demands too much fucking money and no1 is willing to pay, he demands money he doesnt deserve the same way he owns a title he doesnt deserve either. the only HW champion whos a bigger disgrace than byrd is john the bum ruiz, who is only slightly less inactive than byrd. between ruiz's jab-and-grab style and byrds "ill stay home and wait for the money to arrive", its hard to decide whos worse. anyone who says byrd is a champion, or hes good, or hes great, or anything positive about him is truely clueless in the world of boxing.
