July 28, 2005 - Boxingtalk has been informed that HBO's September 24 date has taken a turn for the better. As you know undefeated WBO junior welterweight champion Miguel Cotto will face Gianluca Branco in the final fight of the night. It's hard to consider Cotto-Branco the real main event now that the Wladimir Klitischko-Samuel Peter is "all but done" according to both Klitschko advisor Shelly Finkel and Peter's manager Ivaylo Gotsev. (12: 48 PM) :)
Is there some kind of bus transportation between AC and NYC? I'm trying to take the bus up from DC to AC for the fight and the same night take a bus/train to NYC to visit my buddy. Anyone thoughts?
Nowadays, Sports = Politics
Well of course Sports is a business like any other profit making company. But thats the key right there "profit" Klitschkos dont want to cash in on their success....As any business person should know is that the bigger the risk the bigger the reward and that stands true in boxing.
No I think they are well talented boxers but their whole way of dealing with issues is what makes me bitter.
I think that have very very VERY GREAT potential but they hold themselves back.

Good fight, Wladimir by UD. :)

You mean to say Wlad was really devastated by fast POWER punchers (Sanders, Brewster)..
Byrd is one of the most skilled and fastest boxers in HW right now, yeah he's lazy and $hit and wins by pure luck, or with the help of DK... But Wlad gaving a boxing lesson..
Problem is Peter will be more than willing to eat Wlad's Jab or two to land his own left hooks.
Sanders/Brewster possess speed and power Byrd is lacking in the power department.
If Wlad paces himself and keeps a distance with the jab and throws one of his beautiful hooks it could be a cake walk. We know what Wladimir is capable of but we know nothing about Peter. This fight will be his coming out party if he wants to be a force.
Wlad was really devastated by fast fighters, despite his powerful hands I dont think he is fast enough. The one thing that makes me think Wladimir will win is his jab alone. Is Peter ready enough to deal with one if not the the best jabs in the heavyweight division?
Peter stands a very good chance indeed but I still think he will have problems with Wlads jab considering he has never had to deal with a jab.You mean to say Wlad was really devastated by fast POWER punchers (Sanders, Brewster)..

I really have doubts Wlad can still last full 12 rounds.
Aside from his recent stamina problems, he will be under a huge amount of pressure trying not to get caught by one of Peter's wild swings. This will burn him out..
He should stay loose, mobile, and keep firing that laser guided jab.. otherwise he will get caught..
But if Wlad wins.. this is how I see the fight happening...
1 - Peter starts Brewster/Golota Style.... Wlad backs out
2 - Peter tries again and again.... Wlad keeps backing...
3 - Wlad gains more confidence in the ring... Starts firing his Jab...
4 - Wlad, double jab followed by a left hook all night long...
5 - A straight right puts Peter out of his misery...
Other Scenario...
It will be Wlad/Sanders all over again

Yea if I'm in the area, I'm fairly sure the fight will not sell out. You think it will?
What do you mean if you're ever in the area?
Do you just happen to wonder your way in to AC?
For all I know.. people always go to AC for a reason: Gambling, Fun, Boxing, Concerts, etc.. But no one just "happens to be in the area" :bottle: LOL

If you go to HBO.com/boxing they have the cotto fight listed as a regular HBO and the Vlad/Peter fight (though not listed yet) will hopefully be one of the undercards.
well, it IS a regular HBO program, u know, the good ones u dont have to shell out $50 for.
god, i cant wait for this card.

So is this gonna be on HBO or PPV? If its on HBO it will be a steal. Im glad that Cotto is working his way up, beating every possible contender untill he faces the likes of Hatton/Mayweather. The fight with Branco should be interesting. Although he lost to Gatti he showed potential.
These are both going to be two really competitive fights, especially Branco vs. Cotto. I'll take Cotto and Peter by KO's, but I'm saying it now: DO NOT be surprised if Branco decisions the kid
