Who are you taking Jones or Tarver?

I think Roy Jones will win this, he does have power let's not forget and the last thing to leave a fighter is his punch, I take Roy Jones by late TKO. holy crap....i am swaying for jones to lose and Juy's picking roy to win...hell must have frozen over... :D

I am surprised that as many people are taking Roy as the poll suggests...he didn't only get dropped in his last two fights, he was ko'd....I don't think Roy has the chin anymore...he should get out before he gets hurt...I will be blown away if he wins this

He is one of my favorite boxers, but when i discuss this fight, i get a queasy feeling in my stomach, because i think he is going to lose, and bad. roy gets no love, he has accomplished more than any fighter of our generation yet fighters like dlh, hopkins, toney or tito get far more respect. its kind of sad but we'll see what people have to say about him in ten years, imo people will begin to appreciate what he has done for the sport Right. Thats my damn point exactly. If he does that, he is a tough bastard. True but Tarver never fights all the way through any given round. Anyways, I think Tarver will win by a stoppage or a KO once again. My heart is with Roy, but my brain is with Tarver. Roy lost his speed, he lost his reflexes, and he lost his heart. I know we'd all like to think that Roy can get back in shape and make a big comeback, but I'd just like to point ou to another guy who relied heavily on his reflexes and speed...The greatest of all time, Muhammad Ali. Everyone gets old. Ali got old, Tyson got old, Roy got old, and even Hopkins will get old eventually. These guys are all fighting time as much as they are their respective opponents. I'm not saying he doesn't have a chance here, but I am saying that history is not on his side in this one. Unless he gets some of that George Foreman miracle magic.

I think its a psychological thing with these 2. Tarver was scared of Roy in both fights, he can say anything he wants but you could see Tarver's fear. If he has overcome this after his KO win over Roy then Tarver will win all he has to do is let his hands go, If he hasnt Roy will once again rack up the points and will look like their first fight with Tarver so afraid ROy was gonna explode he let roy steal the rounds from under him.

rjj wins this fight .......i know he got koed 2 times in a row but i feel he had lost the love for the sport and was unmotivated especially in the johnson fight he looked like he did not want to be there now that he has been away for a while he has that love back and i think that will be the difference ...nobody has been able to beat a motivated rjj he gets vendication in this fight ..

In all honesty I think Manny Steward said it best when he made the comment that Tarver would give Roy problems at any stage in his career. Tarver has an excellent defense and a pretty solid chin. But most of all, like Roy, he's a natural counter-puncher. I lean towards Tarver in the 3rd fight. At this point in their careers I just think Antonio is the better fighter and his style is kryptonite for Roy. Especially the 2005 Roy. I do give Roy all the respect in the world for coming back to take this fight but I'm not sure I really want him to.

It pretty even right now on this poll...I got to go with Roy having one last great fight in him.

Just for the sake of voting I chose Tarver. This is a 50/50 fight and there should be no clear favorite. I only lean towards Tarver because of his activity level in the last fight against Johnson. If he fights like that, then he will end up catching RJJ at some point in the fight. Minus all the weight, inactivity, and reflexes issues...Jones still has a chance to win this fight no matter what people think. Even a 70% Roy still has the skill to beat anyone around, and lets not forget he isint dead yet. To be perfectly honest though......NOBODY is going to beat Tarver if he fights at the pace he did last time. Just look at what he does to people in rematches when he is motivated.. Harding fight = complete inactivity Jones 1 = complete inactivity Johnson 1 = complete inactivity Harding 2 = Stalker and active Jones 2 = Stalker Johnson 2 = More active and traded more.
