Oldgringo reminded me about this by talking about the Whitaker vs. Trinidad fight in another thread so I thought I'd make a thread about it.
I remember Nige made one like this back in the day.
So what fight is hardest for you to watch, particularly one where your one of your favorite fighters takes a beating or something like that?
The hardest fight for me to watch is Tyson vs. Lewis.
Lewis was just tattooing Tyson from the distance with right hands and jabs...he really eff'd my boy up.
The second fight I will never watch again is Leonard vs. Camacho...horrible night for Leonard. :(
hmm
Jones-Tarver 2...I was extremely nervous. I got like that late into Roy's career. It was like I was aging with him and had less confidence. After the first round, I held up my fist and said to my friends "it's in the bag". I thought it would be a unanimous decision with Roy winning almost every round.
Then the 2nd round came. Roy went down, and I didn't even think he got hit judging by the camera angle. I genuinely just thought that he had slipped on some water or was off-balance. Perhaps the possibility of a flash knockdown was in the back of my mind. Then Roy got up, was not firmly underneath himself, and Nady stopped it! A bunch of newbies here in Pcola who were only watching Roy for the first time yelling "Roy's a bitch", etc. That was truly one of the worst nights of my life. The Johnson loss was bad but didn't even surprise me that much.
Other than that fight...
Ali-Holmes (not even a big Ali fan but that was sick)
Holyfield-Toney
maybe Castillo-Corrales, but I'll forget about it if Castillo gets redemption in the rematch.
i know there are a lot better and some will disagree this is much of a deal..but i was surprised also by my reaction of this fight..cuz there ahve been so much worst bit it was....

Castillo vs Corrales..i hated corrales and still do(i respect him but not a fan at all..cuz of past thins he's done, frietas, etc...so atleast i respect him,get me) and it was pure war and when corrales went down twice i thought castillo had it won..it wasnt until the second KD that i saw corrales spit out his mouth piece and i didnt get pissed about it really, even when ref gave him 45seconds to recover, because i was so much into the fight/moment...so than from nowhere corrales hits castillo and than u know the rest..tha messed me up..i was honestly quiet..left the room (watched fight with mom and dad..i know i know i am 19{now} but family fun night kinda thing haha) and came here onto BOXINGSCENE and just sat in my chair as i watched whateverone thought of the fight..that fight messed me up..i was honestly sad and f-ed up from it cuz of the ending and how i thought corrales had stole it with his mouth spitting but thats life...not even gatti/PBF did that to me..that was so sad..f**k!..haha..__________boxing=DRAMA__________
Man you think you had a bad night that night.

I'D SAY MAYORGA VS TRINIDAD. I KNEW AND MAYORGA KNEW HE HAD NO BUISNESS AT MIDDLEWEIGHT. I FELT MAYORGA GOT HIS ASS KICKED FOR NOTHING. HE DIDNT TRAIN PRETTY MUCH AT ALL TO MAKE 160. AND IT PRETTY MUCH SHOWED THE BOXING WORLD. HOW MUCH LACK OF RESPECT HE HAS FOR THE SPORT. MAKING HIM LOOK BAD AND GETTING A WELL DESRVED ASS WOOPING IN THE PROCESS. IT WAS HARD TO WATCH CAUSE IM A TITO AND A BIG MAYORGA FAN. BUT I THINK IF THE FIGHT TOOK PLACE AT WELTERWEIGHT.IT WOULD'VE BEEN A MORE OF A EVEN FIGHT. EVEN WITH MAYORGA STILL HAVING NO DEFENSE.BUT HE'S BACK WITH JOEL JUDAH AS HIS NEW CO-TRAINER AND LIKE JUDAH SAID. I THINK HE'S GONNA BE TROUBLE FOR ANYONE HE FACES IN THE FUTURE. WITH JUDAH TEACHING MAYORGA DEFENSE AND FOOTWORK!! LIKE ZAB SAYS " ITS A WRAP" :boxing:
LOL :D
funny. :)
its a fact, John Ruiz is known for putting families to sleep, if you never seen him fight i will recommend you see him fight. Like i told Tracylee(another Boxingscene poster) Do something productive like watch reruns of reruns of Steve Urkal or Seinfeld on television or build a pidgeon nest
Curry - McCallum
I thought Curry was on his way back after the good start then he gets startched with one punch and that's the last we ever saw of the "million dollar fighter", as Merchant reffered to him teh first time he saw him fight.
Gatti/Mayweather was beyond brutal. I have all the respect in the world for PBF; he's one of my favorites, but I grew up loving Gatti and it was incredibly difficult watching him take a beating of that magnitude. I knew there was no way he could win that fight, but I didn't expect it to be a COMPLETELY one-sided ass whooping, either.
Dariusz vs. Gonzalez and Benn vs. Collins II
all of which against opponents that jones had beaten already more impressively than dariusz fagelcheski. and some jones didnt even fight and they were shit to maybe exceopt hill cause dariusz fought him before jones bu tthats it. jones beat richard hall and toyed with him the whole time and put him away in devastating fashion and dariusz went life and eath with him twice. oh yeah and jones beat julio gonzalez every round knocking him down 3 times in the fight and what happened whenb dariusz fought him? oh yeah he lost. hahahahaha what a joke
