I like bojado. i would like to see him come back and do well but he probably wont be willing to fight like hed have to for a while, smokers against bums in off tv bouts. mcgirt was no good for him because mcgirt was training about 100 other guys at the time so theres no way he gave the attention someone new like bojado needs.
shelley finkel is scum
I see the first Rubio fight as where his downfall began. I thought Bojado was going to be a very good fighter but he was overrated by the ones saying he would be a champion in two years. He has a ton of talent but is lazy as hell.
He didn't lose to Rubio because he was headhunting he lost because he was out of shape and fought just like a sloppy out of shape fighter would. He faded very badly down the strecth of that fight.
He won the rematch because Rubio is a no talent bum. He should have never lost in the first place.
ooooohhh, I see
He did lose to rubio, cause he was too busy headhunting. How can you mention that and NOT mention how in the rematch he so completely dominated rubio and won?? He was sharp as hell and on fire that night Jose..you have to mention that if you bring the other up

Bojado had already lost to Juan Carlos Rubio before he lost to Leija.
Bojado was NOT overrated he had a ton of talent, his problem wasn't talent it was being lazy plain and simple.
You got very good current boxing knowledge, I was gonna answer this question , i really like Francisco Bojado ,him being from East L.A and all but he was overated

he had the same problem that Ricardo Williams had. Coming in sloppy and out of shape and secondly fighting veterans who have 10 times as many total fights as you have and 8 times the number of knockouts that you have total fights.
Iremeber early in his carrer when he was successful. After a knockout victory over some schmo as he was scowling and being lifted onto someone's shoulders his promoter/manger/whomever(it may have been Finkel) whispered in his ear something to the effect of "ok, time for the nice bojado, remember kid".
It told me that he had serious attitude issus and that he was a hard tiger to tame. That small example told me he may be up for a downfall.
hes coming out in a movie called "Short Fuse". It may have been out already, not sure but its supposed to be this year.

cool, thanks for the info. I cant wait to see if he can act (although he doesnt need this distraction from the sport)
i never thought he was any good. i remember on one show, there were wondering who was going to be better, him or cotto.... well we've seen that result already.
bojado jus stunk, the only thing i liked about him for a bit, was his hairstyle, lol...
lol, I used to get a kick out of his hair....both him and Kermit Cintron did that for me. Kermit used to shave his head and paint it..I remember when he fought on NBC Budweiser series (didnt happen this spring for whatever reason :( ) his head was painted in NBC's peacock colors. Funny as hell. :D

I think he got way too much way too soon...happens to alot of fighters.
so very true. I miss the hell out of him; he was one of the very, very few that his cockiness didnt bother me. I still havent figured that one out.
Yea what happen to that guy...He should fight someone like Camachito...
dont know..the last good showing from him that I saw was when he got redemption against rubio. AFter that was the disaster with leija, and now??? I havent heard a word about him (except negative stuff here, of course) in a long time.
Was his downfall getting fat? Anyone know what he's doing now...
The change in trainers could have something to do with it. I love mcgirt as much as the next person, but he's famous for taking a slugger and turning him into a boxer, and slugging was what panchito did best. I'm real hopeful he'll get it together, get with a different trainer, take his training serious and try and come back. He had too much talent to just walk away from the sport, especially at his age.
