I NEVER SAID HOPKINS WON THE FIGHT! I said it should've been a draw. Me and you have had this argument in like 500 different threads already. And yes, I watched the fight. It was the first boxing match that I ever ordered on PPV and I plan on getting the rematch. A rematch that a B-Hop nuthugger like myself says that B-Hop will beat Taylor. Oh, and by the way, I like Jermain Taylor too. He is a class act. Do I hug his nuts, also?
Get your eyes checked you asslicker of Hopkins.
You come off as a real ass-licker of Taylor. In any post, someone could bring up a good fact about the Jermain Taylor vs. Bernard Hopkins fight that favors B-Hop and you call whoever made that comment and B-Hop nuthugger. Hell, half of the people you have called a Bernard nuthugger said that they watched the fight from a netural standpoint.
taylor threw 130 more tho.... he was more active. if a guy throws 2 punches n lands them both. compared to the guy who throws 30 n lands 2, the guy who threw 30 wins the fight cuz hes the aggressor n he threw more punches
ok nard landed more punches, but taylor landed n threw more jabs... this doesnt mean shit
Judging is based on scoring each round, not adding up power punches over 12 rounds. Hopkins could outland Taylor 20-0 over the last 4 rounds, but if he already lost the first 8 rounds, so what?
Hopkins fought what would be considered a dumb fight for a younger fighter, but maybe that is his best at age 40.
I hate to agree with noobs but he is right. Everyone is looking at this fight as a whole. Which in boxing you can not. You must seperate this fight into twelve individual rounds. I agree hopkins did more damage, landed more shots , and closed out the fight strong, but he didnt do shit until at least round 6. I have heard plenty of people say that they feel taylor took 1-6. Now if you feel he won one through six then there is no way that hopkins was robbed. Maybe a draw at the best for hopkins.
People are only talkin shit on taylor cause he didnt dominate, well guess what. Neither did bernard hopkins. Did this look like a typical bernard hopkins fight? No it didnt. He normally would have started to make his move about two rounds earlier then he did this time, but he couldnt. Hopkins himself was talkin about who he was gonna fight next rather then the fight in front of him. That shows shows to me that Hopkins under estamated Taylor. He thought it was gonna be a cake walk and it wasnt. He even said he felt that he could wait till later in the fight and go for a knockout. But for the first time in over a decade he couldnt get it when he wanted it.
To me its a combination of his age and taylors underappreciated
skill. If Hopkins were to have come into this fight ready to fight at the opening bell, then maybe a different story. But he didnt. Taylor won this fight cause hopkins didnt fight smart and taylor did. He said before the fight that he wanted to win the first six rounds then Box hopkins rather then fight him. And im sorry, like it or not, respect it or not Taylor fought a tactically smarter fight then hopkins. And for that reason we have a new champ. So dont be mad at taylor. Turn your anger to hopkins, cause he's the one that made all his fans that talked shit look like Asses.
hopkins did enough to win the fight and taylor in my eyes didnt do enough to take the belts from a champion like b-hop. no respect for hopkins the decision was total bs.im not a hopkins nuthugger im just a guy that feels that if u want to be champ u gotta do a lil more than fade in the second half of the fight and land less than 80 punches in the whole fight.
Hopkins lost rounds 1 to 4, then won round 5. Then he threw away round 6 and i had round 7 even. I gave Hopkins 8, 9, 10 was even but could have gone either way, 11 to hopkins and 12. It was that close but its Hopkins own fault he lost he was goofing around to much early and cost himself the fight.
78 to 50 compared to taylor and taylor 18 more jabs..each time i watch the fight it look like hopkins was robbed worse

he started too late. If a fight goes the distance, whoever wins the most rounds wins the fight. Taylor won ALL early rounds and 1-2 late. Hopkins basically won 10,11, and 12. Can't win a fight like that. That's why he lost.
Non sense.
Hopkins clearly won rounds 9-12
Which means the debate about this fight is in rounds 1-8
If you gave 2 rounds in 1-8 to Hopkins, it's a draw.
Give him 3 rounds in 1-8 and he wins the fight.
The first 8 rounds saw Bernard countering, and Taylor moving forward and jabbing. A lot of the jabs missed or were blocked, which means it was often a choice between the few jabs Taylor landed, or the few counters Bernard landed.
In tight rounds, you factor defense into your scoring.
Bernard took Taylor's jab away for the most part, and I had him winning 3 of the first 8.
This fight could easilly have been scored either way by a round, and anyone who talks like their opinion of the fight is set in stone and gospel is a pompus idiot.
taylor only clearly won rounds 1 3 6 the other rounds taylor threw more punches but wasnt hittin shit and hopkins landed some sharp counter 5 9 10 11 12 all where clearly won by hopkins ..all the other four rounds should of been 10 10 rounds
