I was so fuckin happy when they announced the decision and the look on Hopkins face was absolutely priceless He looked like he was gonna cry.To be honest I don't see how he was surprised he basiclly ran for 9 rounds then decided ok I better at least try when the 10th round came up.Taylor out boxed him from the opening bell up till the 10th round then got tired. But regardless if hopkins won the last 3 rounds Taylor still had a huge lead on my scorecard and if hopkins had any smarts at al;l he should have realized that and not cried like a bitch when they announced the winner.
some people also get tunnel vision when it comes to seeing their favorite fighter (even tho im sure half the taylor huggers just now figured who he was) barely win. :D
half you dudes on this post are like little children..
Well see taylor isn't even my favorite fight Jeff Lacy is.
I know it is unbelievable but I guess some people just have tunnel vision when it comes to seeing their favorite fighter lose.

There were 36 scored rounds in the fight (12 rounds times 3 judges). I would agree that scoring the 12th round for Taylor wasn't a good decision, but how about using that same scrutiny for the other 35 rounds, which are all as important to the final outcome?
I have read these statistics on another site:
First 8 rounds - Hopkins averaged 19 punches per round, landing average 5 per round. Taylor averaged 38 punches per round, landing average 9 per round. Is it so hard to see why Taylor won? He worked twice as hard and landed twice as often. Bingo!
It's fair to say that no real damage was done in the first 8 rounds, and Taylor put a good beating on Taylor in the last 3 rounds for sure. But those were all 1 point rounds so Hopkins could not win.
Hopkins fought a bad fight, which can creep up on old fighters. He will be older in the rematch, and Taylor will train twice as hard and pace better for 12 rounds. I don't like Hopkins in the rematch.
exactly, good post

Nope, it was a draw at the end of the fight. First rounds, Jermain was the aggressor. (Judge scored fight for Taylor.) Last rounds, B-Hop landed more effective punches and had Jermain hurt. (Judge scored fight for Hopkins.) The third judge scored the 12th round for Taylor when Taylor CLEARLY lost the 12th round. (Draw.)
And in a million other people, Hopkins won. And in a million other peoples eyes, like mine, the fight was a draw. Honestly, I'm not saying that Hopkins won that fight because he didn't. You all assume that because I'm a huge fan of his I think he won, but he obviously DIDN'T win the fight. But I also feel like Jermain doesn't deserve those straps. I think it should've been ruled a draw and this rematch will finally shut all of us up. Unless it is another close fight that could be a draw.
When people pay Fifty fuckin dollars for a ppv the last thing they wanna see is a draw when it clearly wasn't and that's the type of shit that gives boxing a blackeye. Also if you're saying Hopkins didn't win then obviously he lost because someone had to win the rounds and it sure wasn't him that was winning the rounds and if your trying to tell me that it was a draw from the opening bell then your crazy.

Hey, nard was a great champ, but his time has come and gone I think. It's time to give the kid some credit for doing what nobody has done in yrs!!! I jsut cant get over having read, for the past month, just how bad a beating poor taylor was gonna take, how he was going to get schooled, etc. and now that not only did all that NOT happen, but he got the win, and some just cant stand the thought of giving the guy some credit!! And to think so much of that is based on the post fight interview..where taylor said the SAME EXACT THINGS he always says!! I guess when he knocks peeps out, he doesnt really think he won then either??
That same judge gave Hopkins rd 2, the rd where Taylor almost knocked Nard out.
ALMOST KNOCKED NARD OUT?!?! You have got to be kidding me! That is the most ignorant comment I have ever read on this forum. (Which I'm really glad to say I am apart of, starting yesterday.) B-Hop got hit and stumbled. The force of the hit made him stumble but he wasn't even close to getting KOed. Ridiculous post.

Also if you read my post better you'd have seen that I said hopkins won the last 3 rounds.QUOTE]
Okay, according the the judges scorecard if the judge would've scored the 12th round to B-Hop the fight would've been a draw. So, I ask you does that mean Jermain Taylor should be the NEW Middleweight champ? No. Niether should Bernard. People call me a Bernard nut-hugger but ever since the beginning I've said that neither of these guys should deserve the win.

I'm so damn glad he won it too! I fully expected some of his fans to use the old, reliable "he did beat an OLD man, after all", but I gave too much credit apparently cause I didnt expect anyone to actually tell themselves it was a robbery! Out of all the times I've posted somebody was robbed, every one of thos times several peeps were eager to tell me that an actual ROBBERY is when the win is so obvious...as in several pts ahead of the other guy, instead of a 1 ot 2 pts win. Yet some of the same peeps are yelling robbery! Unbelievable!

Well regardless of what you think someone had to win the fight and Taylor it in my opinion and in the opinion of about a million other people.

Great point. Just take a look at my avatar. Judah said he was winning the fight and that it shouldn't have been stopped.
Just look at the avatar and tell me if he was in a condition to continue. Kostya had walked back to his corner, talked to his trainer, and turned back around. All this time, Judah was still doing the chicken dance. He would have been dropped withing 30 seconds had it continued.
yeah, Judah looked like he was waiving for a taxi when he started doing the dance then fell flat out on his grill.
And yeah he was acting confident he won after the fight but how times have we seen that from fighters even though they got beat?

You come off as a moron. He wasn't even close to crying. He thought he won, and he didn't. He was shocked. Taylor didn't outbox Bernard in the early rounds either, he was the aggressor. The judges saw that and gave the rounds to him. Even in the post match interview B-Hop was still confident that he won. He's not worried about this loss at all. He knows he'll come back and win the rematch. Not once did I see his eyes starting to tear up. You, just like the judge who gave the 12th round to Taylor, both need to get your eyes checked.
