First off I just wanted to say congratulations to Jermain Taylor and all of his fans. Most people said it could not be done, but he did it.
I scored the fight 115-113 for Taylor. This fight was not controversial to me at all. Honestly, it's quite clear what happenend.
Hopkins lost the majority of the first 9 rounds. He swept the final three. So yes, it is fresh in the minds of most that Hopkins ended the fight on a stronger note, but that does not add up to a points victory.
Taylor won more rounds than Hopkins in my book. And also in Harold Letterman's book and two of the three judges books as well.
The fact that a 23-fight, four year , green rookie was able to hang with Hopkins and take a points decision from him really confirms my suspicion about his overblown 20 title defenses against mostly inferior, class c fighters.
Regardless, JT is to be commended for winning a fight on pure athelticism alone because lord knows the kid didn't have the experience to fall back on.
When Hopkins attempted to impose his will, JT refused to give up. He refused to fold and he answered just about every Hopkins rally.
Again, props to the new middleweight KING, Jermain "Bad Intentions" Taylor!!
I don't hug anyones nuts and Hopkins is not a little bitch. Look at Taylor after the fight, does he look like he won?
That isn't sound logic at all. Ali definitely beat George Chuvalo in their first fight and yet it was Chuvalo who went dancing with his wife that night while Ali went to the hospital and spent the next week pissing blood.

Yeah all this name calling's getting a little silly. You can't react to everyone that thought Hopkins won with cheap insults. I don't agree with THE TRUTH's opinion of the fight but he's one of BS's top long-standing members and you have to respect what he has to say.
Congradulations to "Bad Intentions" he was not as experienced or skilled but fought all 12 rounds and pulled the fight out on heart. He had Hopkins backing up for the majority of the fight. Plain and simple he won the fight, pretty or not.

Come on bro. You know that isn't how a fight is scored. They don't look at the two fightewrs at the end and say well, fighter A looks fresher than fighter B so fighhter A won. You judge each round individually. And based on that criteria Taylor won. Hopkins didn't do much of anything in the early rounds. Had a nice 5th and won the last 4 rounds. Thats about it. If you aren't going to take your head out of your ass until the 9th round you can't expect to win a fight.
The guy that wrote the article is either blind or he's an nut-hugger of Hopkins like yourself. Taylor clearly won & he's a class act, he's not a little bitch like Hopkins.
I agree man, The person who wrote that article seemed very bias.
When a decision is this close it's understandable why some fans will be happy and some bitter. This is the law of polarities; however, the official record that will go in the history books is Taylor W12 Hopkins...
So you fans in denial can cry a river but JT owns those belts - all of'em and he did by fighting a CLEAN and RESPECTFUL fight. The close decision victory that Trinidad got over De La Hoya did not hurt his career, and this won't hurt Taylor's either. Especially considering the fact that more than a few people thought he won.
So I'll leave it to the Hopkins' fans to cry politics and robbery. All I know is there's a new champ in town and his name is Jermain "Bad Intentions" Taylor.
as The_Truth says, read the article on the main page. it says it all.
Taylor did not win the fight and Hopkins should still be the champ.
Thank you...

You are correct. Good post. these whiney ass hopkins fans make me laugh. He's still an all time great Middleweight but not even in the discussion for all time p4p. The man was alway to cowardly to step outside his comfort zone and fight a guy bigger or stronger the way all the alltime p4p guys did. Most of his fights were infact against blown up welters. I'm glad to see him knocked off his high horse and if there is a rematch it won't even ber this close.
