I think its unfair to say someone from this time is greater because of better competition. We will never know how good someone from from the 50's and 60's will do against someone from these days. All we can do is wonder. The tapes from SRR are unbelievable though, and to think that they took all that punishment and fought again weeks sometimes DAYS later is unbelievable.

Amature record of 85 straight wins... of those... 69 knock outs... of those 40 in the first round! at one point he had a PRO record of 128-1-2 with 84 knockouts including a 91 fight winning-streak He was never knocked out in 25 years... He was ambidextrous... could knock people out with both hands... BOTH HANDS! Jermain Taylor woulda been knocked out in the first 30 seconds!!! I think you need to reconsider your position. He may have destroyed Tito, Winky did the same thing though. I think he is a very good fighter and a hall of famer because of what he did with the title defenses, but an all time great? I dont know. it was SOOO close, as soon as the decision came tonight tho, im now anicipating: Hopkins vs. Taylor 2 "Will The Legacy Prevail" just think, if Hopkins comes back in the rematch and wins, retires... that just blows my mind! I dont think this was a super high profile fight because neither guy is in his prime so I dont think it will be debated for years to come
